Walk with Us!

As professional long-term care givers, we understand the complexities and many forms of dementia.  We value the research, advocacy and educational resources provided by the Alzheimer's Association.
Please join us as we walk to end Alzheimer’s. The annual Dutchess Ulster Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place Saturday, October 16th.  Some will join the walk over the Hudson River Walkway while others will be walking locally.  Lutheran Care Center is inviting friends in the community and families of residents to join us in walking around the LCC Campus.

ADHC Re-opens after 18 Months

The daughter of one participant who returned to our newly re-opened Adult Day Health Care Program left a message, "Hi, so sorry! I couldn't wait until tomorrow to tell you... we asked Mommy how her day was and she was so happy. FaLisia, thank you so much for all you do!!! She was very happy... and that made me smile."
The Adult Day Health Care staff, under the experienced direction of FaLisia Cotton, welcomed family and registrants back to the ADHC Center on September 13th with activities, hot meals, music and warm hearts.  Families in the community find peace of mind in knowing they are leaving a loved one for several hours a day in a safe place.  Professional staff learn each person’s needs and preferences. Registrants are able to receive their medication on schedule and avail themselves of physical therapy.  Transportation is available.

Adult Foster Care Program

Also known as Extended Care, this innovative program pairs a family in the community with a senior wishing to live in a warm family home environment.  Elderly or slightly disabled adults with minimal medical concerns thrive in this setting rather than continuing to live in an isolated environment.  They have much to offer, rich experiences and stories, and a desire to be a productive member of the community.  LCC monitors the care and the individual’s health. Compensation is provided to the host. Heartfelt bonds and lasting memories are formed.
