Graduate Student Support Fund
GSLMU understands that this academic year has been exceptionally difficult. As such, they have created the Graduate Student Support Fund to provide financial assistance to graduate students who have incurred unforeseen expenses arising from the current crisis. All applicants are eligible for up to $100 in the form of a gift card of choice. Learn more and apply through LEO.

All or Multiple Disciplines
Creative Capital Awards- Deadline: March 1! Helps visionary artists in all disciplines build thriving careers, and every year we review applications from artists ready to take the next step in their creative practices. The selected artists receive the Creative Capital Award, which includes up to $50,000 in funding for bold new projects, as well as a wide range of counsel, career development, and networking opportunities to make their work come to life.
Hansen Leadership Institute- Deadline: March 15! This program has provided a unique University-based leadership experience and program in international cooperation. American men and women will join students from a variety of developing countries and regions of social strife to learn from experts and one another about conflict resolution and social entrepreneurship. Fellows receive hands-on training in team-building, public speaking, negotiation, mediation and working together to solve international problems. The Hansen Summer Institute is fully funded by the Fred J. Hansen Foundation.
NSF REU Site: Increasing Statistical Preparation in Research Education for Underrepresented Undergraduates- Deadline: March 15! Approximately 8 female students from underrepresented groups will be invited to Spelman College for an 8-week summer program. During the summer program, INSPIRE U2 participants will be exposed to statistical programs and analytical techniques, including modern techniques not commonly included in the undergraduate curriculum, such as moderated mediation. Must be a current first-year student (sophomores will be considered).
PEN America Emerging Voices Fellowship- Deadline: March 17! The program provides a five-month immersive mentorship program for early-career writers who are traditionally underrepresented in the publishing world. The program is committed to cultivating the careers of Black writers, and serves writers who identify as Indigenous, persons of color, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, writers with disabilities, and those living outside of urban centers.
CGI U Social Innovation Challenge- Deadline: April 1. Supports a community of entrepreneurs and innovators in developing leading-edge tech-based solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges. Finalists will receive access to a specialized curriculum, entrepreneurship training from accelerator partner VentureWell, and seed funding and living stipends from a pool of over $350K, with approximately $20K per team. Seeking current undergraduate students and graduate students, as well as CGI U alumni, who are leveraging technology within three key issue areas: Immersive Education Technology, Climate Justice, and Health Equity. Prospective applicants may apply in teams of 2-3 individuals, ideally with complementary skills.
Latinx44 Scholarship Program- Deadline: April 1. The program will award several scholarships to Latinx students to help fund a public service-oriented internship in Washington, DC. Recipients of the scholarship will also be provided with mentoring and professional development opportunities throughout the program and beyond. Eligible applicants must have secured an internship. Eligible internships will focus on policy, community engagement, community service, advocacy, or global relations.
Inclusive Ireland Scholarships- Deadline: April 1. Ireland is committed to providing academically rigorous and culturally immersive study abroad experiences for students from all backgrounds and identities. In order to be considered for a $4,000 scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a college or university in the United States
- Identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour)
- Intend to study abroad at one of the participating colleges or universities in Ireland during the Fall 2021 term
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above
College of Business Administration
The Risk Management Association (RMA) Foundation Scholarship- Deadline: March 31. Open to sophomores and juniors who are interested in working in the banking industry after graduation. The RMA Foundation is awarding scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $8,000. Winners may reapply for continuation of their scholarships for up to two additional years, provided each student fulfills the renewal requirements and maintains their free student membership with RMA.
School of Education
2021-2022 Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms (Fulbright TGC) Program- Deadline: March 24. Equips educators from the US to bring an international perspective to their schools through targeted training, experience abroad, and global collaboration. This yearlong professional learning opportunity for K–12 educators features an intensive online course and a short international exchange Participating host countries include Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, and South Korea (countries subject to change in the 2021-2022 Fulbright TGC Program).
School of Film & Television
The Disruptors Fellowship- Deadline: March 19. An inaugural fellowship for emerging television writers of color who identify as trans and/or non binary, disabled, undocumented, and/or formerly undocumented immigrants. Fellows receive master classes in Los Angeles, mentorship, a $6,000 honorarium, and more.

Are you interested in advancing justice and equity while earning the opportunity to win prize money and receive coaching to produce a professionally designed video? Join the Promotion of Justice Challenge! All LMU students are invited to enter. It will be a hands-on experience in storytelling and we've partnered with Aim2Flourish to utilize their method of appreciate inquiry to discover and present a narrative about a for-profit company making a substantial impact on social justice and equity in the community through their business practices. The challenge is also sponsored by Givewith who will lead workshops on digital storytelling and help coach the top 4 finalists through the production process of a video this summer. You can form a team with your peers or join a team of like-minded individuals. Over $5K total in cash prizes. Learn more.
Apply march 21Shakespeare Theater Company Summer Internship
Each summer, the Engagement and Education Department invites college students interested in exploring careers in theatre education to help facilitate its summer program: Camp Shakespeare. Successful candidates will have prior experience working with youth, preferably in the arts. These summer internships are full-time, short-term engagements that span from late-June to late-August. Summer interns receive a weekly stipend but are not provided with housing. Learn more.
APPLY BY March 31Summer Institute (SI)
SI is a two-week creative writing and cultural exchange program for participants age 18-22 from Pakistan, India, and the U.S. Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the SI will be held virtually in 2021. Students from all disciplines – the arts, humanities, sciences, and everything in between – are welcome to apply! This program is free for accepted applicants and will focus on creative writing and the power of narrative. Attendees take part in collaborative workshops focused on their creative work, in seminars to expand literary knowledge of diverse global literatures, in special seminars on the craft of writing, and in activities designed to forge new lines of understanding and shared purpose among its community of writers. The SI is an opportunity to see writing as a form of action – a personally-empowering skill that can be employed for social change. Apply now.
