Elevate your generative AI skills with InnovAIte Academy |
PSU’s InnovAIte Academy is now accepting applications for a third cohort! This program empowers faculty and staff across all departments, regardless of their previous experience with generative AI, to harness its potential in research, teaching and operations. No computer science, technology or programming background is required — the focus is on practical applications that are accessible to all.
The Academy begins with a one-time cohort convening on June 10 (optional), independent work through the summer, in-person meetings this Fall, with project presentations in late January, 2027. See the schedule (scroll to bottom of page). Questions? Check out the FAQ.
Please complete the program application to join the third cohort, including a brief statement of interest in the program. The application should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
With only 100 spots available across all three tracks, and high demand for this opportunity, early submission is encouraged. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Reminder: Take the OHSU survey on leave support |
Please check your email for an invitation from OHSU to participate in the second of three surveys about work-life balance and leave support. It is a project in collaboration with PSU Human Resources.
Employees can still participate even if they did not complete the first survey in February. You also do not need to have taken leave or supervised someone taking leave. The research team wants to hear from everyone.
Individual responses are strictly confidential and will only be seen by the OHSU research team. PSU will receive aggregated data only. Human Resources will use the data to inform improvements to leave processes and supervisor training, which are among the key recommendations that PSU Human Resources is pursuing as part of Operational Excellence.
Thank you to the hundreds of employees who completed the first survey. The final survey will be sent this fall.

Petition to rename street outside NASCC — Final stretch! |
PSU is in the final push to collect 2,500 signatures to support the official renaming of the street outside our Native American Student & Community Center (NASCC) in honor of the late, beloved Indigenous leader Rose Hill.
An additional 1,000 signatures are needed from Portland residents — by June 14. You can now sign the petition electronically. Signing the petition requires you provide your address and sign with your legal name. The date and printed name will automatically fill once your signature is complete. Signers will need to respond to an email prompt after signing to submit the petition.
Paper petitions are still being collected. Print the info sheet and petitions, and invite your neighbors and friends (they must be Portland residents) to sign! Scan and send the signed copies of the petition to communityimpact@pdx.edu.
