Connect with a Classmate or Fellow Alumni Month!

February is Connect with a Classmate or Fellow Alumni Month. Your mission is to meet up with fellow Leadership Spokane classmate(s)/alumni, and have coffee/wine, etc. sometime during the month of February. Take some time to catch up, and inspire each other. We could all use a little positivity these days!

Whether connecting virtually or in-person, be sure to capture a photo and share your gathering with us by posting to the event page on the Alumni Facebook group page (https://bit.ly/3stKb7Z) with a comment. You will even be entered into a drawing for an extra drink ticket for the upcoming Cheers to 40 Years Gala!

Alumni Auction Basket Challenge

This year’s Cheers to 40 Years Gala features a new competition: the Alumni Auction Basket Challenge. Each Leadership Spokane class year is invited to participate by putting together an item for auction at the gala. This isn’t just a competition in name only: there’s a trophy up for grabs! The auction package from an alumni class that raises the most money will win the NEW Gala Trophy and will earn eternal bragging rights!!

If your class year hasn’t had a chance to prepare a contribution yet, you still have time to submit an auction item. Cheers to 40 Years Gala – Friday, March 11th

The Cheers to 40 Years Gala is only a month away! Join us for a night full of inspiring speakers, fun, & most importantly celebrating our 40th Year of Servant Leadership. If you have already registered, no further action is required. Leader Spotlight- Thursday, March 3rd

Join us on Thursday, March 3rd for our rescheduled Leader Spotlight event featuring Julie Orchard, Leadership Spokane Class of 2014 member and the WA/MT HR Strategic Program Manager for Providence Health and Services. Julie has over two decades of experience in Human Resources and has served on numerous boards in Spokane. Learn more about her journey and the challenges Human Resource professionals face today, as well as her involvement in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

The event will begin at 5:00pm and be held in-person at Trailbreaker Cider (2204 N. Madison Street in Liberty Lake). See you on March 3rd!

Spokane Chiefs Family Night- Saturday, March 19th

The Leadership Spokane Alumni Spokane Chiefs family night takes place on Saturday, March 19th at 6:05pm. We’ll be taking in the game from the Washington Lottery Crease party area on ground level, next to the boards. A bar area will be set up with drinks for purchase. Tickets are only $17 for adults and $11 for children, and all ages are welcome. To purchase tickets go to https://bit.ly/HockeyNightLSAA.

Note: for those of you who purchased tickets to our March 2020 event and got a credit from the Chiefs for your tickets, please contact Britt DeTienne at bdetienne@spokaneairports.net for instructions on how to get that credit applied to tickets for the March 19th game.

Book Club- Thursday, March 31st

The Alumni Book Club meeting, originally scheduled for January, will occur on March 31st at 6:00pm. We’ll be looking at the book Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath. Strengths Finders is an assessment that helps individuals discover their top talents and employ strategies that allow them to leverage their talents to better themselves and change the way they look at themselves and the world around them.

We’ll be meeting at Market Street Pizza (2721 N. Market Street). We’ve reserved the back room of the restaurant for our group. Not only will we have a great conversation, but we can also enjoy some great food and beverages while doing so! (Note: vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.)

After purchasing the book from your preferred retailer, follow these steps:

Read the first 31 pages of the book
Complete the assessment
Read and process your strengths
Test and validate your strengths as if what it told you was 100% true
Come to our discussion ready to discuss what you uncovered, ready to share about yourself, and excited to learn about others!
