Graduate Showcase: On Tuesday, April 28th, The Graduate School and Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence are hosting the 2026 Graduate Showcase. The Showcase highlights exceptional work done by graduate students; featuring poster presentations on a wide variety of research and scholarly activities from all programs and disciplines. All are welcome to attend.

Therapy Dogs: This time of the year can feel overwhelming for graduate students. GVSU wants to assist students by providing destressing opportunities. The University Counseling Center and West Michigan Therapy Dogs are providing students with therapy dogs to relieve stress and provide support through comfort and affection. The therapy dogs can be found on both the Valley Campus and Health Campus on a variety of days in April. For more information, visit the University Counseling Center.

GVSU Graduation Celebrations: Grand Valley welcomes organizations and faculty leaders to hold smaller scale celebrations. The events are open to all students, staff, faculty, and families. Commencements that are taking place are Asian Graduation, Lavender Graduation, Native American Advisory Council Graduation, Latinx Graduation, and Black Graduation. Graduate Student Within the Assistantship – Christina Williams: Christina is a Master of Social Work student and a graduate research assistant for the School of Social Work. Her research pertains to literature reviews, research design, and data collection. Christina’s main GA research assignment is titled, “Neuro-Inclusiveness and Accessibility in Social Work Education”. Graduate Student Within the Assistantship – Jason Vandenberghe: Jason is a Higher Education - Student Affairs Administration student and an advising graduate assistant for the Padnos College of Engineering department. Jason typically has about 4 appointments a day to discuss a student’s first year and any recommendations on what to take the following year.
