Tennis Court Preparation

Spring is here and tennis is in the air! The RVR maintenance crew is working hard to get the clay courts ready for the season.

Court one is now open and being used for lessons only. We will soon have another court available and will open it for bookings as soon as it's ready.

We are currently experiencing delays in clay delivery for the remaining courts. This is due to nationwide issues with the clay supply chain. We will continue to keep you posted and look forward to seeing you on the courts!
Deer Fencing Deadline
The deer fencing removal deadline is Friday, May 15. You may remove fencing at any time but must have it down and properly stored by the deadline.

Events

Book Signing with
Lisa Dancing Light

RVR resident, Lisa Dancing Light, is an educational specialist and internationally recognized recording artist and composer. She will be offering her first read and book signing event, poolside at the Ranch House, on Friday, Apr. 23 at 4:30 p.m.
Her book, Magic Mountain, an environmentally focused children’s book for ages Pre-K – 3rd grade, is a story about a talking mountain that goes to sleep because people stop coming to hear his stories. When two children come to camp with their parents in the valley of Magic Mountain, they learn about Magic from a wise old owl and decide to journey up the mountain to see if they can awaken him and hear his stories.

This story is an adventure into a special way of listening, of waking up and about the beauty of nature in a changing world.

Yelena Chemerisov Art
You can now view the fantastic artwork of Yelena Chemerisov at the Ranch House! Yelena originates from Kiev, Ukraine, and worked as an artist in Los Angeles, CA for thirty years before recently moving to Basalt. She holds a BFA from Otis Parsons School of Art and Design, and focuses on oil painting mastery, as well as art education.

Reminders & Highlights

Irrigation Process Underway
Landscape Superintendent, Travis Green, and RVR crews have been working hard to get water available to the RVR community. Residents should expect water to be accessible in the next two weeks. When your home’s system is ready, RVR crews will leave a note on your front door handle, letting you know water is available to you, at the street. At that point, you’ll be able to activate your own sprinkler system to begin watering.

Bears Wake From Hibernation
As we transition into warmer weather, we would like to remind you that bears are now coming out of hibernation and they are hungry! Bears can be attracted to our area by trash being left out overnight, bird feeders, pet food, barbeque grills, fruit and compost.
Please do your part to keep the bears safe and out of our neighborhoods. Thank you for your efforts to keep the community and local wildlife safe!

Vehicle Parking & Storage in RVR

Over the past several weeks we have been featuring important information regarding  the Vehicle Parking, Storage, Operation and Repair portion of our Master Declaration to educate the community on what vehicles are and are not allowed at RVR.
Management will be identifying any parking instances that need to be addressed to gain compliance, as well as answer any questions RVR residents may have regarding their particular vehicle.
Written notices will be given to identify any possible non-compliance’s. We hope to achieve community wide compliance in April to be ready for an active spring and summer. Starting May 1, Notices of Violation and Fines will be issued.

Animal Frolics Qigong and Meditation
Have you ever tried  to walk like an elephant, fly like a bird, gather fruit like a monkey, or swim like a dragon? It’s fun!
Using visualization, relaxation and the story of the animals we can connect to nature.  We enjoy the ability to let go of frustrations and worry, to allow our energy to flow inside us and to connect with the beauty, harmony and peacefulness of nature.   After all, we are part of nature!
We  feel energized as we prance like a deer.  We feel peaceful as we soar like a crane.
We will end our session with a calming meditation to find the balance of the yin and the yang, the fast and the slow, the hard and the soft.
Please join us on Sunday, May 2 at 4 p.m. on Zoom as we frolic with the animals and connect with our own inner peace.
If you have never done Qigong, try it.  No experience is required.  The animal frolics are usually done standing, but if you want to sit down that works too. The meditation is done seated in a chair or on a cushion. We will want to have a straight spine so please find a seat that is comfortable for you.
Please note, the Zoom link for this workshop is different from the link for the Qigong classes.
