2018 Board of Examiners
Congratulations, Examiners!
Examiner Training is over and Team Assignments will be coming your way the first week of August! Here are your first steps:
As soon as your packet arrives in the mail, make sure your packet includes:
  • Cover Letter
  • Team Contact List
  • your Applicant's Intent to Apply Form
  • the Application Form (this will not be the complete application. The complete application will be available to you through Scorebook Navigator.)
  • your Applicant's Organization Profile
Review the Applicant Packet and the Rules of Conduct and Ethical Standards within 48 hours of receiving your packet. If you have a conflict of interest with your assigned Applicant, or you're not sure, call us right away at (800) 453-6474. If there's no conflict of interest, complete the Conflict of Interest Checklist and Certification, and e-mail it to contact@tncpe.org
Once we receive your Conflict of Interest Certification, we will activate your scorebook in Scorebook Navigator. Don't forget to access the Examiner Resources and download the Independent Review Tip Sheet for additional guidance. Your team leader should contact you soon, but, until then, you can go ahead and start Independent Review!

Independent Review Tips
1
Set a schedule that works for you - and stick to it! Book three-hour blocks of time. Use the first block to read the application, the second to complete key factors, and the rest to complete two items at a time. Finish Independent Review at least two weeks before Consensus so category leaders can synthesize.
Trust the process. Even our veteran examiners need to be reminded to take each phase in its own time. These e-mails, along with Webinars and team communication, will be effective tools - along with the resources below - to help you (and our Applicants) get the most out of this process.
Repeat it. Repeat it. As you enter Key Factors into Scorebook Navigator, repeat the Key Factor title in the Key Factor description box. This will make it easier to find your Key Factors when assigning them to each item.

        Excellent News
Many of you may have met me through Examiner Orientation and Training - and if we haven't met yet, "Hello!". Over my years with TNCPE & the Baldrige national program, I have experienced all facets of this process - applicant, examiner, facilitator, judge - including where you are right now. I am so excited by this year's amazing group of examiners, and I cannot wait to see how you come together as teams, and us all as an organization to provide quality assessments that will help drive excellence in the Southeast!
“I am grateful for my many years as a TNCPE volunteer examiner, trainer, and judge."
        - Tamera Parsons, TNCPE -
