Impact TMA Policy at the May 18 House of Delegates

A couple of NAM’s 31 physician delegate spots are vacant for TMA House of Delegates on Saturday, May 18, in Franklin, TN. The House of Delegates gives physicians from across the state an opportunity to gather as a professional group to develop policies that affect the practice of medicine and the delivery of patient care. Policy positions developed by the House of Delegates provide a basis for TMA's legislative priorities. TMA Leadership Applications, Nominations Due by May 15

The John Ingram Institute for Physician Leadership is accepting applications and nominations for its 2019-2020 Leadership Immersion Program. Applications are due by May 15 to be considered. The program offers a foundational training in teamwork, collaboration, conflict resolution, time management, delegation, media relations and advocacy. The program has a nationally recognized faculty. Tuition is only $1,000 because TMA underwrites 80 to 90 percent of the cost. For more information about the program, click here or email beth.lentchner@tnmed.org.

Reminder: TN Professional Privilege Tax Is Due June 1
| |
Tennessee law requires every physician with an active license from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners (BME) or Board of Osteopathic Examination (BOE) to pay a professional privilege tax by June 1 of each year to the State of Tennessee Department of Revenue. Physicians may not receive a reminder from the licensing board, and only those who have previously signed up for email reminders will receive them from the Department of Revenue.

Annual Episodes Design Feedback Session Is Tuesday, May 21

TennCare is hosting their annual episodes feedback session for stakeholders to share successes, ask questions and recommend changes to improve episode design. The feedback session will be live-streamed across the state, and participants may share their feedback at all six locations: Nashville, Johnson City, Jackson, Knoxville, Memphis and Chattanooga.
