Let's talk self-care.
Your emotional health is just as important as your physical health in fueling your academic success. Newcomb-Tulane College is committed to helping you create a network of resources and individuals for support. Connect with NTC or with our partners across campus.
Self-Care & Achieving Wellness
Navigate campus life by reading advice written by Tulane students with NTC's Student Success blog. Utilize Student Success guides and workshops to enhance your classroom skills and learn stress management techniques. If you're looking to talk with someone directly, connect with Dean Skinner in Dean's Office Hours or a trusted peer mentor to talk out your feelings and learn from their experience. Campus Health's The Line and The Well are other compelling resources to utilize if you're looking for additional support.

Treat yourself with kindness. Talk to yourself like you would your best friend. Say an affirmation as you get ready for the day. Remember you have value beyond being a student and you're worthy of love, respect and happiness.
Go to sleep early and wake up early. Skip the all nighters. Go to sleep. We’re also not suggesting a 6 a.m. wake-up call seven days a week, but starting your day even an hour before your classes begin can be beneficial in preparing for and planning your day. This allows time to get ready for the day, intentionally pack your bag, review class material, finish assignments, etc.
Make your bed. Consider it your first task of the day. By making your bed you’re starting your day on a productive note and creating a tidy environment for yourself. A clean space can clear your head, ease your anxiety, and shift your mindset into work mode.
