The Book of Psalms: Calling Out from the Depths
Psalm 6: Prayer for Healing by Jerome E. Goodman, MD
A preview from the Miller Center for Interreligious Learning & Leadership of Hebrew College's Psalm 6 lesson on the new Calling Out from the Depths website, which speaks to suffering and prayer as it might relate to this moment.
For more than four decades, I have cared for very ill people with cancer, blood diseases, and AIDS. And for several years during those decades, I also experienced my own medical illness in the form of prolonged pain from failed spinal surgery. The words of Psalm 6 speak deeply to the psychological core of patients’ fears, and to how prayer can surmount fears and provide focus and direction when we are most bereft.

Beit Midrash at Hebrew College: Relationships with the Texts and Each Other Are at the Heart of Rabbinic Education
This week, Hebrew College Rabbinical School welcomed a record 30 prospective students to our Mascott Beit Midrash for our fall Open House, Ta Sh'ma (Come & Hear).
“We see Hebrew College's Beit Midrash as a gathering place for forming deep connections fundamental to the spiritual work of Talmud Torah: with your ancestors, who speak through the text; with your chevruta, your partner in the learning project; with the broader learning community whose words and insights will buzz in the air around you; and with the Divine,” Rabbi Shani Rosenbaum, co-director of Hebrew College's Beit Midrash said.

Hebrew College Books Find New Homes in Diverse Set of Jewish Organizations
You don’t have to return these library books! When planning for the move across Newton last January, Hebrew College took the opportunity to rehouse thousands of books with local and national organizations and universities, and to sell them to book dealers. The donated books went to dozens of institutions and individuals, including but not limited to Berklee School of Music, Cornell University, the Israeli American Council, Hebrew College partner Lehrhaus, Newton Free Public Library, Northwestern University, University of Washington, and the Yiddish Book Center.

Hebrew College Joins Washington, D.C. March for Israel
Several members of the Hebrew College community—including students, alumni, faculty, staff, and College President Rabbi Sharon Cohen Anisfeld—attended Tuesday's historic "March for Israel. March to Free the Hostages. March Against Antisemitism" in Washington, D.C. “It was a powerful experience, being part of the largest Jewish gathering in American history. Alongside the urgency and anxiety and horror that brought us all together, the overall atmosphere was a positive one. It was powerful to feel that there was space for Jewish people to stand side by side even with wide ranging political differences. The day was about something much broader and managed to hold us all,” said rabbinical student Carrie Watkins. Hebrew College officially supported the march, which drew an estimated crowd of 300,000.
