TDSB Appoints New Trustee to Ward 17

Trustees with the Toronto District School Board have appointed Aleem R. Punja as the new Trustee for Ward 17 (Scarborough Centre), at its regular Board meeting on August 31, 2022. Mr. Punja was the successful candidate following an open application process that was launched after the election of former Ward 17 Trustee David Smith to the provincial legislature in June.

TDSB Recognizes Orange Shirt Day on September 30, 2022

Friday, September 30th is both Orange Shirt Day and the second annual National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, a federal statutory holiday. On this day, we recognize the legacy of the residential school system for First Nations, Métis and Inuit families and communities. We acknowledge the legacy of residential schools in Canada by wearing orange and we honour the survivors. We remember the thousands of children who were murdered and buried in unmarked graves.
