YWCC Expands K–12 Computing and Math Outreach Across Newark

Technology for the greater good is a principal tenet of the NJIT mission, and one that is carried forward by the university’s Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) and its many initiatives to increase education and opportunity for K-12 students in the city of Newark.

YWCC Students Rank Among Best at ICPC Regionals for Third Year

The YWCC Programming Club has proven once again that they are formidable competitors to some of the best schools in the Mid-Atlantic region at the 2025 ICPC North America Greater New York Regional Contest held at Columbia University, with one team scoring in the top 20 among the likes of Princeton, Cornell and Columbia.

AI Minor at NJIT Creates a Foundation for All Students

The Department of Data Science has designed a series of AI courses that will provide a foundation for students from bachelor’s to Ph.D. level with or without a background to develop fundamental knowledge.

Pritam Sen earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at NJIT in May 2025 and has achieved what in horse racing is called the triple crown.

S-STEM Scholarship Program Graduated Its First Class – But the Next One Has a Star in the Making

The NSF-funded S-STEM Scholarship program provides support to gifted students with financial constraints. NJIT, one of five NJ schools sharing a $5 million dollar grant, graduated its first class last year. Their latest meeting focused on resume preparation, featuring a presentation by a student whose life has been changed through the program. Jonathan Kozlik is but one of our all-stars who has done amazing things with this opportunity.
