Introducing the First-Gen Student Action & Training Team! |
Global Diversity & Inclusion is excited to introduce the First-Gen Student Action & Training Team, a group of student facilitators focused on raising awareness of the unique experiences of first-generation students at PSU. This student-led team will engage the campus community, especially student services staff, by providing culturally responsive training on best practices for supporting first-gen students. The team will create a curriculum based on student voices, laying the groundwork for a network of certified campus liaisons. Mentored by Global Diversity & Inclusion, the team will lead these efforts to foster a more inclusive campus environment.

From the President’s Blog: Honoring our Veterans’ Service to Our Country |
In her latest blog post, PSU President Ann Cudd reflects on the university’s deep connection to veterans, from its founding in 1946 to serve World War II veterans, to the ongoing support provided today. Learn about the inspiring story of Charlie White, a WWII veteran and longtime PSU professor, and discover how the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) continues to honor and support our veteran community through events like An Iliad, a modern retelling of the Trojan war that connects the tales of soldiers of the past with the present, presented by the VRC and the PSU School of Music & Theater.

PSU Takes Over Portland National College Fair |
This year, with the help of all eight Colleges and Schools and Academic Advising, Portland State University took over eight booths at the Portland National College Fair. Students were able to connect with experts from nearly every major, academic advisors, and admissions representatives to get the full PSU experience. Our booth featured the famous PDX carpet and rivaled our competitors with the full experience of being in Portland. We collected contact information from nearly twice as many students than past years and wowed everyone who went past the space.
