Powerful advice from Firefighter & Critical Care Paramedic
Nick Sprague, Chippewa Falls, WI
Stories like Nick's stick with us, haunt us and motivate us because he found DetecTogether too late. Nick wants to help and encourage others to learn from his story.
"3 Steps Detect would have absolutely helped me recognize the symptoms. In hindsight, there were symptoms, but I disregarded those as diet and colorectal issues."

Cancer survivor brings life-saving 3 Steps Detect full circle
Joe Marchetti, (ret) Deputy Fire Chief, and Joanie Cullinan, (ret) Firefighter, delivered a refresher on DetecTogether's 3 Steps Detect® to Norwood, MA, as they know all too well the power of our early cancer detection program.
One of their brothers, Mike Fagan, is a true early detection success story. He continues to advocate for and bring 3 Steps Detect to the department to reinforce an individual's power in early detection and train the probies.
DetecTogether's program helped him recognize his body's warning signs, how to take action, and be persistent in catching his colon cancer early, "I caught my cancer early, and now I'm back at the job that I love!"

Is cancer a nutrient thief?
Johns Hopkins shares 5 early cancer signs that we highlight in our training — these will surprise you!
Cancer can steal your energy as it uses your body's nutrients and energy to grow and advance.
- Extreme exhaustion/fatigue that persists and doesn't get better with rest — It doesn't mean you have cancer, but it can be an early sign of cancer to talk to your doctor about (Use our Two-Week Rule!).
- Fever is a common and temporary symptom of colds, flu, and infection, but it can also be an early warning sign of cancer.
If you don't suspect illness or infection and you're getting persistent, recurring fevers, particularly at night and maybe even with sweating, it's time to call your doctor.

The event brought together survivors and kind-hearted, passionate supporters to champion our life-saving mission.
DetecTogether is the only nonprofit dedicated to teaching people how to recognize the early warning signs of cancer and use 3 Steps Detect to save your own life. Hearing the heartfelt stories of survivors inspired us all.
The enthusiastic participation in the Auction demonstrated guests’ commitment to the cause, preparing more people with the knowledge and inspiration needed to take timely healthcare action and harness the benefits of early cancer detection.
