Bond Projects Update: Playground and Outdoor Restrooms at Community Center

The new dinosaur-themed playground at the Community Center is now open! Also, a new outdoor restroom building is in place at the Community Center. The building will be open and accessible from the tennis building by the end of June. Once all of the site work (grading, landscaping, etc.) is finished at the Community Center in late July, the restroom building will also be accessible from the rest of the Community Center campus. If you have any questions, email bondprojects@kcranch.org.

Ranch House Pool Closed Friday and Saturday for Swim Meet

The Ranch House Pool will be closed all day Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25 for the annual Ken-Caryl Invitational Swim Meet. Due to the large number of visitors for this event, cars will likely be parking on the streets around the Ranch House. The Community Center and Bradford Pools will be open regular hours both days, so we encourage residents to use one of those pools. We apologize for any inconvenience. Best of luck to the Ken-Caryl Lightning Swim Team!

Wildlife Awareness Open House

It is beneficial to be aware of the wildlife with which we share our home on Ken-Caryl Ranch. There will be a presentation on the latest wildlife issues followed by an open house. Come talk with the Master Association Rangers about the dos and don’ts when encountering wildlife, see mounts and skins, and grab some educational materials provided by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Jefferson County Open Space.

Ages: All
Date: Saturday, June 25
Time: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Location: Dakota Lodge
Fee: Residents Free, Non-Residents $5

Heirloom Park Renovations

As part of the Bond Projects, Ken-Caryl Ranch is updating the landscaping, irrigation system and playground equipment at Heirloom Park, which is located off of Club Drive and Mountain Oak in the Valley. The new playground will have a nature-themed look with log-like climbing and play structures to add a different style of playground never before seen on Ken-Caryl Ranch. You can see the full plan for Heirloom Park on our Bond Projects website page. The park is currently closed for the renovations. The plan is to open the new playground in mid-July and to have the rest of the park open in mid-August.

Median Resurfacing Project at South Valley Road and Ken Caryl Ave.

The smaller median at South Valley Road and Ken Caryl Ave., outlined in the photo on the left, will be resurfaced with stamped concrete in August. The median is the responsibility of Jefferson County, but it is not maintained on a regular basis, creating an eyesore. The County and the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association have agreed to split the cost of the stamped concrete. Huge thanks to resident and Metro District Board member Jeff Esbenshade for pulling weeds on the median last week.
