| Dear colleagues,
Today marks the beginning of the midterm grading period. Please be sure to submit all grades in accordance with university deadlines. Timely entry ensures that students receive meaningful feedback on their progress and have the information they need to make thoughtful decisions about their academic plans, including seeking support when needed. Thank you, as always, for your care and attention to this important responsibility.

Here are the top “5 Things to Know” this week:
|
-
William & Mary Libraries will hold its second Celebration of the Book reception on Thursday, April 16. This event is intended to recognize faculty and staff who have published or edited a book or book chapter since the first celebration held in April 2024. If you wrote a book or chapter that should be included, please complete the online form by March 31.
- This Friday, March 6, is the application deadline for the Reveley Fellows program. Funded through a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in honor of former President Reveley's leadership on the Mellon board of directors, the Reveley Fellows program supports interdisciplinary work at William & Mary.

As the April 2026 digital accessibility deadline approaches, please keep in mind that the focus is on progress, not perfection. Every step you take toward improving accessibility makes a meaningful difference for our students. I encourage you to consider scheduling a roadshow, attending a training, or reaching out directly with any questions you have. W&M accessibility experts are here to help every step of the way. Visit the Digital Accessibility website for more information.

You are invited to participate in Leadership Where You Stand, a virtual series designed for faculty and staff who want space to reflect on and strengthen their leadership in the roles they already hold. Across five one-hour lunchtime Zoom sessions, participants explore core leadership themes such as values-based decision-making, self-awareness, purpose and sustainability, navigating complexity, and leading through influence and relationships. Please contact provostevents@wm.edu with any questions.

This week’s shoutout goes to three William & Mary graduate students who have been selected as 2026 Commonwealth of Virginia Engineering and Science (COVES) Policy Fellows: Pankaj Niroula, Alejandro Velasco, and Lindsey Dillard. This is a fantastic reflection of student achievement as well as W&M’s broader commitment to civic leadership and the vital role that scientific expertise plays in shaping effective public policy. Congratulations!
