Law Related Education (LRE)

Yearlong Clinical Teachers attended Law Related Education (LRE) Social Studies professional development presented by Jan Miller and Dodie Kasper of the State Bar of Texas on September 19th and 20th.

Presenter Jan Miller shared, “We realize that student teaching is the most important time in the career of a teacher, and we want to help them have a good start. We teach about the rule of law by using primary documents and literature. Literature is important in teaching social studies, so we provide materials for student teachers to begin building their libraries.”

SoTL Professors Drs. Jaime Coyne, Tina Valenzuela, Salandra Grice-Johnson, and Andrea Foster helped facilitate the event.
