10th Anniversary Over the Edge Event - A Memorable Experience

Our 10th Anniversary Over the Edge event hosted by Mohegan Sun took place on Friday, September 3rd. The event is a fundraiser that provided more than 70 individuals who've raised money for Special Olympics with the opportunity to rappel more than 30 floors down Mohegan Sun's Sky Tower to see amazing views and enjoy an exciting and unforgettable experience. Participants this milestone year include law enforcement officers from Meriden, Seymour, UConn, Glastonbury, Enfield, Rocky Hill, Avon, Wilton, Bristol, and Subase New London. Participants also represented area businesses including Bearingstar Insurance, Grey Area Tavern, Chelsea Groton, Gander Group, Reliance Health, and WWE. Athlete Robin Batchelder rappelled for a second time and athlete Matt Glad, for an amazing eighth time and was the top individual fundraiser. The event raised over $90,000!
Board Member Set to Complete Annual Swim for Special Olympics
Special Olympics CT Board Member and Hotchkiss School Faculty Member Keith Moon will, for a second consecutive year, complete a two-mile, round-trip swim across Lake Wononscopomuc for the 27th Annual Hotchkiss School Swimathon to benefit Special Olympics on Saturday, September 11th. Lake Wononscopomuc, Connecticut's deepest lake, is located in the Lakeville section of Salisbury. Moon will be joined by 20 members of the Hotchkiss School community, including students and faculty. Ian Graham, a Hotchkiss School alumnus and parent of a Special Olympics athlete who participated in 2020 has committed to complete his swim for the event at a later date. Last year, as a result of the pandemic, the event transitioned from a day-long swimathon at the Hotchkiss School's pool with students completing laps to solo swims by Moon and Graham, keeping the spirit and momentum of the event sustained and strong! You can donate to support Moon and this year's Hotchkiss School Swimathon here.

14th Annual Susan Saint James Poker Tournament

The fundraiser returns to Foxwoods Resort Casino on Sunday, September 19th. Find out more and register here.
