Denison announces 2024 Commencement keynote speaker
Skidmore College President Emeritus Philip Glotzbach will deliver the keynote address at Denison University’s 183rd Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 11.
Glotzbach’s commencement keynote is an opportunity for him to return to The Hill, where he taught philosophy for 15 years.
His keynote — which he promises will be a brief take on a much larger topic — is titled: “Don’t give up on democracy.”
“Many young people today are expressing serious doubts about democracy,” Glotzbach says. “All of us need to value our citizenship and accept our crucial role in determining our collective future.” Read the full announcement.

Denison student-consultants tackle real-life business problems
Denison’s Red Frame Lab consulting program is coming off a banner fall 2023 semester, when teams of students worked with corporate clients to build better businesses, from battery technology to fast-food industries.
This innovative initiative was born of necessity in 2020 when traditional internships dried up during the pandemic. Denison sought to provide students with real-world opportunities. Now, a few years later, the concept has proven wildly popular among clients and Denison students, with 30 students currently on a waiting list. Read more about the students’ work with OnPoint Warranty Solutions, NC4K, Wendy's International, an out-of-state battery technology company, and Bailey Bug.

Make the Most of Increased Charitable Gift Annuity Rates
| |
Did you know? A charitable gift annuity is a way to support Denison while earning a tax deduction the year of your contribution and fixed payments to you or two individuals you select. Recommended rates just increased at the start of this year, so this is a great time to explore CGA benefits. Please contact the Office of Gift Planning at 740-578-5023 or giftplanning@denison.edu to receive a free, personalized, no-obligation recommendation. (Per policy, Denison doesn’t issue CGAs in all states, the minimum age to start receiving payments is 60, the minimum gift amount is $10,000, and all deferred-payments annuitants must be 50 years old at time of signing.)
