First Year Wellness Experience Toolkit in Canvas Commons |
A new Canvas Commons resource for faculty and instructors contains course assets to complement the First Year Wellness Experience, a new Institute-wide initiative coordinated by Housing and Residence Life, to introduce all first-year GT undergraduate students to the Eight Dimensions of Wellness and facilitate their skill development in each area.
To access the resource, please login to Canvas and in the Commons search for "First Year Wellness Experience Instructor Toolkit." (Be sure to clear any filters first.)
While designed specifically for instructors of first-year undergrads, this content may be beneficial to students at all levels of study.

Allen Hyde (History and Sociology) has been named to lead the research initiative in “Responsible and Ethical Technologies” at the Institute for People and Technology.

Robert Rosenberger (Public Policy) presented "Situatedness and Technology Studies: On Standpoint and Postphenomenology" at the Society for Social Studies of Science's annual meeting in Amsterdam. Rosenberger's talk used his work on hostile design, as well as his critique of the the recent Supreme Court decision on camping bans, to frame some theoretical contributions to STS work on technology.

Haizheng Li (Economics) presented his paper, “The Financial Value of Human Capital: Evidence From Small Enterprises in China,” at the International Society for the Advancement of Financial Economics conference in Thailand.

Almadia Press recently released Futuros Distópicos, the third volume of the Spanish translation of the feminist science fiction anthology The Future is Female, edited by Lisa Yaszek (Literature, Media, and Communication). Yaszek also delivered an invited talk on the history of women's science fiction through the lens of fashion, style, and design at the Forsyth County Public Library in August.

Nationally known speakers will illustrate the impact of the areas represented in our College in TEDx-style presentations, followed by IAC unit leaders, who will relate how their areas boost belonging, learning, and research our campus. The event will offer a panoramic view of the massive influence of the liberal arts at Georgia Tech and beyond.
