Operational Excellence Update: Process Improvements
|
Over the past few months, the Operational Excellence work teams focused on creating a plan for more streamlined administrative services. This included identifying visions for each of the areas under review including Finance, Human Resources and Marketing and Communications.
The teams are currently analyzing recommendations and working diligently to finalize a plan for streamlined administrative services that also address the unique conditions facing PSU. The proposed organizational structure and processes are expected to be complete in mid-July.
Visit the Operational Excellence webpage to learn more about the key objectives and view an updated timeline. It will also be updated when the final design and implementation plan are complete.

Learn, Collaborate and InnovAIte with AI |
Invest in your current understanding and future application of AI by joining the pilot cohort of InnovAIte this summer or fall. PSU will launch these communities of practice for faculty and staff to learn, collaborate and implement AI in teaching, research and operations. Participants will complete two Coursera certifications, earn a one-year Gemini Education add-on license and participate in bi-weekly innovation circles. The program will culminate in a university-wide showcase of AI projects, where participants will share outcomes and lessons learned through demonstrations, poster sessions and talks.

It’s not too late to make your voice heard
|
The Campus Climate Survey is still open. Faculty and staff were invited to participate in the survey via an email from Viewfinder, a trusted research partner working with PSU. The online survey only takes 15 minutes, and helps PSU leadership understand how different groups experience our workplace.
Can’t find the invite email? Use this link to access the survey.
Survey results will be shared during fall term, and your feedback will help inform future decisions as we implement our strategic plan.

Coming Soon: PSU Transitioning from EAB Navigate to Slate |
PSU is transitioning from EAB Navigate to Slate by August 2025. This move will streamline student support, reduce annual costs by $110,000 and align with PSU’s enterprise CRM strategy.
What’s changing? Core EAB features like appointment scheduling, notes and Early Alerts will move to Slate. All current users will receive access matching their current roles, and faculty/advisors will be able to write notes on student profiles.
No system changes will occur until August 2025 but teams should pause new EAB-related processes and new department onboarding.
Slate training will start in late summer. Have questions? Fill out this form.
