Spectrum News 1 recently highlighted ILTexas among a select group of schools recognized as Naval Honor Schools—a distinction awarded to top-performing MCJROTC units nationwide. This honor reflects the dedication, discipline, and leadership of our cadets and instructors, and celebrates the impact of character-driven education at ILTexas.

| Inspiring Creativity with Art Teacher Ms. Marwa Shahin |
At ILTexas BG Ramirez K-8, art teacher Ms. Marwa Shahin turns every class into a launchpad for imagination. From warm-ups that spark innovation to interactive projects that build discipline and confidence, she helps students develop both creativity and critical thinking. | MCJROTC Cadets Honor Heroes at 9/11 Run
|
Cadets from ILTexas Arlington-Grand Prairie and Garland high schools joined the Travis Manion Foundation’s 9/11 Heroes Run, honoring the lives lost on September 11 and the spirit of service that followed. Running alongside hundreds of participants, our Eagles showed strength, unity, and character—with Garland High School’s MCJROTC team earning first place for the second year in a row.

MCJROTC Cadets Compete in Keller-Saginaw Athletic Challenge
|
Seventeen schools and more than 350 cadets came together at Keller-Saginaw High School for a high-energy athletic challenge. From tire flips to sprint relays, cadets showed grit, teamwork, and determination throughout the day. ILTexas Windmill Lakes Orem High School took home the top overall award—congratulations to all our Eagles who competed!

| Every Day Counts: How Attendance Powers Eagle Success |
September is Attendance Awareness Month, and showing up each day makes a big difference for our Eagles. Consistent attendance not only fuels academic success—it also helps secure the state funding that powers ILTexas programs, teachers, and resources. Families facing challenges can find support through counseling services, Parent University, and the Families in Transition program.
