Ten Ivan Allen College Faculty Members Earn Promotion and Tenure

Ivan Allen College faculty members Shatakshee Dhongde, Stuart Goldberg, Gordon Kingsley, Kyoko Masuda, Robert Rosenberger, Yongtaek Kim, Lindsey Bullinger, Alberto Fuentes, Robert Gonzalez, and Anne Sullivan

Ten Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts faculty members will be promoted to associate professor, achieved tenure, and/or will be promoted to full professor effective Aug. 1.

The (Liberal) Art of Problem Solving

Ivan Allen College alum Albert George has led an impactful career in environmentalism. He founded the Amazon Reforestation Project, worked as the director of conservation at the South Carolina Aquarium, and is now the carbon neutral program manager at Apple, where he develops strategies to reduce the company's global supply chain emissions to net zero by 2030.

While technological advances are one way to approach global issues such as inequality, climate change, and artificial intelligence, the liberal arts are also a powerful tool for problem-solving in just and equitable ways.

Ivan Allen College Faculty Earn Institute Research Awards

Mary Frank Fox and Lindsey Rose Bullinger in the School of Public Policy have received Institute Research Awards from the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research.

Jon Lindsay, associate professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, and Nadiya Kostyuk, assistant professor in the School of Public Policy

International Affairs, Public Policy Researchers Contribute to Cybersecurity Journal

Ivan Allen College faculty members Jon Lindsay and Nadiya Kostyuk contributed to a special issue of the Journal of Peace Research calling for “rigorous inquiry based on theoretically robust, and policy relevant investigation."

Ivan Allen College Faculty Members Join the Discussion During UN SDG Action and Awareness Week

Dean Kaye Husbands Fealing took part in a panel discussion on "The Role of Philanthropy in Climate Action and Sustainable Development" during United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action and Awareness Week at Georgia Tech. Ivan Allen College faculty members Dylan Brewer, Shatakshee Dhongde, Alberto Fuentes, Allen Hyde, Natalie Khazaal, Yanni Loukissas, Juan Carlos Rodríguez, and Valerie Thomas, as well as graduate student Miguel Granier, presented lightning talks throughout the week.

Buzz Around IAC

William Warihay, co-coach of the Georgia Tech Mock Trial Team, has been selected to the 2024 Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. The highly selective list recognizes no more than 2.5% of attorneys in Georgia.

Professor Dina Khapaeva (Modern Languages) will deliver a Fellows Seminar on her research project, "Propaganda of Violence in Putin’s Memory Politics," at the University of Strasbourg Institute for Advanced Study on Thursday, March 14.

Assistant Professor Lu Liu (Modern Languages) recently presented on “Translating Phage Therapy in the People’s Republic of China, 1949 – 1965” at a conference on "The Cultural Lives of Science and Technology in the Sinosphere" held at the University of Washington St. Louis.

Five Atlanta high school students participating in the Georgia Tech 2024 North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition have qualified to compete in the Invitational Round on Thursday, March 14. National winners selected during this round will be eligible for the International Linguistics Olympiad. We wish them well in tomorrow's competition!
