Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

As we move into the season of giving thanks, it is easy to name the wisdom we glean from scripture. People of faith are called into a life of gratitude. Inspired by words from one of our own departed saints, Ann Weissenborn, I offer you a challenge as you go about your days. Can you name one thing each day for which you are grateful? Can you name more than one? Will you remain open to see the little, sometimes hidden blessings and name those as well? If you feel so led, grab a journal and start recording so you can easily see all the ways God shows up with gifts in our days. For the next two Sundays, we will dive into this theme of gratitude in worship and we invite our church family, as you enter for worship or as you depart worship to serve, write those things for which you give thanks on one of the two pumpkins. When we join together for our Thanksgiving meal, we will lift our prayer of thanks over all the things which we have named. I hope to see you in worship as we give thanks!

We have a busy weekend planned at PHUMC.
For their Fall Day of Service, the Youth will be helping pack boxes at MS Food Network on Saturday. Contact Geoff  to confirm your attendance by today.
Everyone is invited to bring a picnic lunch and join us at Liberty Park after Worship on Sunday for a Church Family Picnic. Contact Haven.

November Communion Offering

Bring your cans of cranberry sauce to help MadCAAP fill their 700 Thanksgiving boxes. As in the past, our November Communion Offering will help fill MadCAAP's Thanksgiving boxes for those in our community who are living with hunger. Bins are available in the foyers of the Worship Center and the Education Building to collect your cranberry sauce cans. We have committed to providing 1400 cans. Bring cans or monetary donations by November 14.

One of our goals this year as a church family was to be a presence in our community. We would like to thank everyone who helped with the Parkway Hills Scarecrow Festival booth. It was a fun night and we even had some visitors to our Trick or Treat Trail thanks to our presence at the Scarecrow Festival. The other event discussed was the Madison Christmas Parade. No firm plans have been made. We know this is a very busy season and that the parade is early, so we ask that you help us decide what, if anything, we plan to do as a church family as part of the city's festivities December 2nd.  Click here and take a moment to answer a few questions to help us decide. Thank you! We do best what we do together!
Update: Still Needed!
One of the neighbors in our community came to the office at Parkway Hills seeking help with a refrigerator. Their refrigerator quit working and they do not have the means to buy a new one. If you know of anyone with an extra refrigerator or think you can help, call the church office.

Mark the date and join us for a church family Thanksgiving fellowship meal Sunday, November 19 at  6 pm. The church will provide the turkey and dressing. You bring one (or two!) sides and/or dessert to share. We will also need a few hands after Worship on the 19th to aid us with table setup. This is always a great time of fellowship and good food and we hope to see you there.

Did you know that we have a Church Directory App? It's free!

Instant Church Directory is a helpful tool for our staff, members and visitors alikel! You may be a friend, visitor, or member, and still be listed in our Directory. Call or email Linda in the church office, give her your email, name, address and phone number, plus an emailed photo, and she will set you up. Then go to the App Store, download the free Instant Church Directory, and enter the email you gave to Linda. Call church office 601-856-2733 or email Linda if you need any help with this.
