Ph.D. Candidate Xun Song is Finalist for Prestigious 2026 ASHG Trainee Research Excellence Award

Xun Song, a Ph.D. in Computer Science candidate, has been selected as one of 18 predoctoral finalists out of 800 applicants for the 2026 ASHG Trainee Research Excellence Award. ASHG is the leading professional society and annual meeting in human genetics. His work highlights the growing impact of YWCC's research at the intersection of AI, genomics, and clinical genetics. Xun will present his finalist work at the ASHG Annual Meeting in Montreal in October.

Congratulations to Professor Senjuti Basu Roy for being confirmed as a 2026 INNOVATE 100 honoree. The annual recognition highlights superlative achievements in NJ innovation from all sectors. Prof. Roy is currently the Panasonic Endowed Chair in Sustainability and director of the Big Data Analytics Lab at NJIT.

Verizon Invites Students to Tour new NHL Innovation Center in Prudential Center

A delegation of our best students were Verizon's guests at their new NHL Innovation Lab in Newark's Prudential Center to get some ideas on the future. It was an incredible learning experience for our students to better understand the technology behind on-ice performance, game operations, team communications and fan engagement. NJIT Hosts Partnership with Warsaw University of Technology

NJIT will host a partnership with visiting scholars from Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), Poland’s largest technical university, in fall 2026 to conduct joint research in computer graphics and geometry processing. The partnership grew out of research conducted by Associate Professor Przemyslaw Musialski in the Department of Computer Science during his time as a Visiting Professor at WUT.
