NeighborWorks and University of Scranton mobilize volunteers for Community Clean and Green Week
NeighborWorks recently partnered with the University of Scranton to engage nearly 40 volunteers from the Class of 2028 in Community Clean and Green Week. These students arrived on campus early to participate in the Freshmen Involved in Reflective Service Together (FIRST) program, which offers new students the opportunity to immerse themselves in hands-on service projects in the Scranton community for five days before Fall Welcome.
Together, we organized the volunteers to assist six older adult-headed households with tasks such as yard maintenance, window cleaning, power washing, and more. This effort helped reduce the stresses of summer for our senior neighbors, and we are thankful for the university’s continued support in making a positive impact in our community.

This performance was rescheduled from August 9 due to Tropical Storm Debby. The show is free and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you there!
