Good afternoon and warm and sunny greetings to the NESA Community! What a month it has been, filled with warm temperatures, sunny skies and signs of Spring - here's to hoping it stays!
We are excited to report that planning is underway for our next and final season out of the four temporary venues we host programs and activities out of.
NESA plans to have the Spring program guide available for you sometime during the week of March 25; be sure to check the website throughout the week as that is where we will post it when it is ready!
With just a few more weeks to go of the Winter 2024 season, we wanted to send some updates your way to let you know about a few things happening with NESA! 
Important Dates to Note
Weekly Book Sales at McClure United Church - Mondays from 9am-3pm
Bottle Drive at the McClure United Church (New venue for April only!) - April 3/24 (8:30am-12pm)

Arts and Crafts and a Two-Day Booksale at McClure United Church - April 9 and 10, 2024 from 9am-3pm
Garden and Plant Sale NESA's Garden Club is hosting its Annual Plant and Garden Sale - May 17/24 10:00am-3:00pm at Steele Heights. 
 Spring 2024 Season at NESA
The Spring 2024 Program Guide will be released during the week of March 25, 2024. Visit the NESA website for updates as it will be uploaded online as soon as it is available!
Spring 2024 Registration starts Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 8:30am.
Spring 2024 Season Schedule: April 15 to June 24, 2024 (10 weeks).
NESA's Return to Northgate: The tentative return time to Northgate will be end of June/early July.
Details for Summer and Fall 2024 programming will be confirmed in the coming months. NESA will provide updates just as soon as it has more details to share!
 Do you need help with your Income Tax Filing?
The NESA Volunteer Tax Program is back! This is a partnership between NESA and the CRA in order to provide free income tax service to our members. The Volunteer Tax Program will run from March 18 to April 26. To be eligible, you must be a senior with an income that is less than $35,000 for one person and $45,000 for two people.
If you qualify and would like to access the program, please give us a call at 780-496-6969 and leave a message. A Tax Volunteer will be in touch with you to set up an appointment.
NESA and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee
Did you know that NESA has several different committees that support the Board to ensure that our organization continues to serve the needs of our members and the broader community?
One of these committees is the Diversity and Inclusion Committee which was formed to help the Board, staff, and volunteers to continue to build and support a diverse and inclusive community.

Did you know that the Red Cross has a Friendly Phone Calls program? This no-cost program matches people over the age of 18 with trained Red Cross personnel who connect with them regularly to check-in, provide emotional support, encourage healthy coping strategies, and suggest well-being resources and community connections to other existing services.

Canada Pension Plan Presentation
Join our friends at the Central Lions Seniors Association to meet with representatives from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board for an information session about the role that CPP Investments play, how they are invested and about their sustainability. Discussions will also include talking more about an Alberta Pension Plan and include an opportunity for you to ask your CPP-related questions.

Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our seniors recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives.
