Chamber Ambassadors Turn 50

In 1972, Ted G. Ringhofer and the Chamber created the Ambassador program to be the welcoming arm of the Chamber.  His idea was so good that 50 years later the Ambassadors are still going strong-welcoming new members, hosting groundbreaking and ribbon cuttings, supporting a scholarship for a high school senior and getting behind the chamber initiatives. 
The Ambassadors hosted the annual Golden Opportunity dinner on Sunday to raise funds for the scholarship.  

Forecast is Good: Owatonna Positioned for Growth

Economic development was the focus of the February Member Growth Breakfast Series. Speakers were Sandy Barin, First Vice President of CBRE global commercial real estate services, and Troy Klecker, Community Development Director for the City of Owatonna, with the conversation moderated by Greg Kruschke, Community Development Manager for the City of Owatonna.  The panel discussed the highlights, obstacles and realities behind the continuing growth in the city. 
Chamber members are welcome at next month's breakfast when the focus is on Census: Changing Demographics of Southern Minnesota with featured speaker Susan Brower, State Demographer.

Hagedorn Team Present Flags to Chamber Day Before His Passing

Aaron Eberhart, Outreach Coordinator for Congressman Jim Hagedorn presented the Chamber with two flags that were flown over the U.S. Capitol honoring the Chamber's 75 year anniversary and celebrating Rhonda Guthier's 20 years at the Chamber.  This presentation was the day before Congressman Jim Hagedorn lost his battle with cancer.  Rest In Peace Congressman and thank you for your service.
