Where Are They Now? Former Fort Wayne broadcaster Chad Mitchell now hosts afternoons (3pm until 7pm) at 'Star 99.1' WAWZ in Zarephath, New Jersey, and 'Star 93.3' WAKW in Cincinnati, Ohio. While in Fort Wayne, he was the producer for the locally hosted "Rusty Humphries Show" on WGL (1250am, Fort Wayne). That was under prior ownership and before Mr. Humphries became a syndicated talk show host and podcaster.

Where Are They Now? Former WZVN morning host Wes Adams moves within Townsquare from their Victoria, Texas cluster, to their Grand Junction, Colorado cluster. He's now cluster Director of Content and both programs and does mornings at KEKB (99.9fm).

Retired broadcaster Jimmy Mack (James McDowell) died at age 99. After Mr. McDowell graduated in 1947 from Chicago's Columbia College of Radio, he began working for WHFB (1060am) in Benton Harbor, Michigan. In 1953, he started at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan (which had only signed on in 1949). In 1957, he moved to Indianapolis. Over the next decade and a half, he worked at WISH radio (1310am) and TV, WIRE (1430am), WXLW, WBRI, and WLWI-TV (Channel 13) before retiring in 1973. In 2009, he was inducted into the Indiana Broadcaster's Hall of Fame. Here's the complete obituary.
Nexstar's CBS affiliate WTTV-TV (Channel 4, Bloomington) and FOX affiliate/WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis) reporters Jill Glavan and Alexa Green both exit 'CBS4' and 'FOX59'. Ms. Green joins the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department as their chief communications officer. Ms. Glavan joined FOX59 in 2012.
Circle City Broadcasting's CW affiliate/WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis). Anchor Brenna Donnelly exits after over 4 years. Also, after just over two years, reporter Katie Wisely exits.
TEGNA's NBC affiliate/WTHR-TV (Channel 13, Indianapolis) reporter Meredith Juliet exits the station.
Former Indianapolis broadcaster Jerry Harkness died at age 81. Mr. Harkness was the first black sportscaster in Indiana, starting with WTHR (Channel 13) and later with WTLC radio. Here's the complete obituary.
Where Are They Now? Former WNOW-FM (100.9fm) morning host 'Big Joe' Pesh now does mornings for WLHT-FM in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

After filing an FCC complaint about the sale of one of his employer's stations, DLC Media News Director Frank Rush exits DLC Media in Terre Haute. Earlier this year, DLC Media announced a $335,000 sale of their Classic Country/WVIG (95.9fm, Seelyville) to Educational Media Foundation. The sale was filed with the FCC in early August. Nexstar NBC affiliate WTWO-TV (Channel 2, Terre Haute) and Mission Broadcasting ABC affiliate WAWV (Channel 38, Terre Haute) anchor and reporter Sadie Ali exits. Also, Shelby Reilly joins as the late evening co-anchor and reporter. Ms. Reilly last worked for KOLO-TV in Reno, Nevada as a reporter, and began her broadcasting career at KTVL-TV in Medford, Oregon.
At Allen Media Broadcasting's CBS affiliate/WTHI-TV (Channel 10, Terre Haute), reporter/producer Sarah Lehman exits. She joined WTHI-TV in June 2018, after graduating from Ball State University, and she now is a reporter for WCIA-TV in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois https://www.wcia.com/author/sarah-lehman/. Also, reporter/anchor Dominic Miranda exits. Mr. Miranda joined WTHI-TV in June 2019 and now is a weekend sports anchor and reporter for WCTV-TV in Tallahassee, Florida https://www.wctv.tv/authors/dominic-miranda/. Finally, Kit Hanley arrives at WTHI-TV as a weekend evening anchor and reporter. Ms. Hanley graduated earlier this year from Louisiana State University.

Good Shepherd Radio president Keith Reising is stepping down. Succeeding him will be station manager Keith Maddox (elevated to president/executive director), and Jim Hutson will be vice president. Good Shepherd owns Southern Gospel/WYGS (91.1fm, Hope), and Contemporary Christian/WKJD (90.3fm, Columbus).
Southwest
Ad-Venture Media’s Classic Hits/WQRK (105.5fm, Bedford) PD Jason Murphy exits. He's now with Adams Radio Group, as PD/Afternoons at WHTF in Tallahassee, Florida. https://hot1049.com/
Noah Alatza exits as weekend anchor and reporter for Nexstar ABC affiliate WEHT-TV (Channel 25, Evansville) and Mission Broadcasting's CW affiliate WTVW (Channel 7, Evansville). Mr. Alatza joined 'Eyewitness News' in February 2020 after working across town for a year at Allen Media's CBS and FOX affiliates/WEVV-TV (Channel 44, Evansville).

Sign-on dates seem to be a prickly matter, subject to great debate, and mostly impossible to confirm. If there is something we need to add to the calendar, please let us know. Please also e-mail us if you have updated information.
November 7: In 1969, 100.1fm in Angola signs on as WAFM. It later moved to 100.3fm, and it's now WLKI. In 1972, 1140am in Hawesville, Kentucky signs on as WKCM. It moved in the 1980s to 1160am but remains WKCM. In 2006, 101.3fm, then-licensed to Morganfield, Kentucky signs on as WMSK-FM. It remains WMSK-FM, but is now licensed to Sturgis, Kentucky.
November 8: In 1966, 92.7fm in Decatur signs on as WADM-FM. That 92.7fm allocation moved to 105.1fm (today's WQHK-FM), while another 92.7fm (now licensed to Berne) signed on later. In 2016, WERT(AM) (1220am, Van Wert, Ohio) added an FM translator at 104.3fm (W270BL).
November 9: In 1955, 1570am in Kendallville signs on as WKTL. In the late 1960s, it moved to 1140am and is now WAWK. In 2012, Big John Gillis died. Age 65. Mr. Gillis worked for 40 years at WIBC in Indianapolis. In 2016, WRIN(AM) (1560am, Rensselaer) added an FM translator on 104.5fm (W283CO).
November 10: In 1969, 91.1fm in Gaston signs on as WDHS (Wes-Del High School). It later went silent. In 1972, 103.9fm in Crown Point signs on as WFLM. It's now WXRD.
November 11: In 1949, Channel 10 in Bloomington signs on as WTTV-TV, for owner Sarkes Tarzian ('Tarzian TeleVision'). In 1954, it moved to Channel 4, and it remains WTTV-TV (owned now by Nexstar).
November 12: In 1969, WDHS (91.1fm, Gaston) at Wes-Del High School had their first broadcast: A freshman basketball game, with school superintendent Paul Parker doing play by play.
November 13: In 1964, 89.7fm in Terre Haute signs on as WISU ('Indiana State University'), and still is. In 1973, 97.7fm in Brazil signs on as WWCM-FM ('Wide World of Country Music'). 97.7fm later moved to 92.7fm in the mid-2000s. Today, it's WFNB.
