Good Evening,
Hi, I'm Blaine Thompson, and for the last 22 years, I've published IRW. I didn't quite mean to take most of the last several weeks off. I'll start sending out IRW regularly (perhaps twice a week?) and I'll get you caught up.
Here's a bit of what I've noticed over the past few weeks, with plenty more to come, including details about someone promoted to become a radio cluster GM.
Emergency Alert System (EAS) 2020 Required Monthly Test Schedule
Each month, a required test of the Emergency Alert System takes place statewide.
It occurs on the third Thursday of every month except March to avoid conflict with the NCAA Basketball tournament.
Here is the 2020 required monthly test schedule:

Northeast
Adams Radio's AC/WWFW (103.9fm, Fort Wayne) finishes their all-holiday programming by flipping formats to Variety Hits, as "103.9 Wayne FM" under GM Kevin Musselman and PD Robbie Mack.
Fort Wayne radio broadcaster Chilly Addams died. Born Daniel Carnall, he started in radio at Rock 104 (what was then WXKE on 103.9fm) in the mid-2000s. He then moved to the morning show with Doc West for several years in the early-2010s. Then, he left 2000 Lower Huntington Road and joined WBYR (98.9fm) in weekends for several years. Quincy Broadcasting's ABC affiliate WPTA-TV (Channel 21, Fort Wayne) welcomes Krista Miller back, to co-anchor the weekday evening 6pm and 11pm local newscasts, alongside her new husband Brien McElhatten. For the last two years, she's worked as an anchor and reporter for KAKE-TV in Witchita, Kansas. She will return to Fort Wayne television screens in March.
Northcentral
Weigel Broadcasting’s ABC affiliate/WBND (Channel 57, South Bend) welcomes Jennifer Lee to their early morning news. Ms. Lee will co-anchor with Vahid Sadrzadeh and Meteorologist Emily Kennedy. Ms. Lee last worked for KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado as their morning anchor. Ms. Lee will anchor early mornings (until Good Morning America) and then 'ABC 57 Morning News on CW 25' (WCWW, South Bend) at 7:00am and 8:00am.
Central
Cumulus' Chief Engineer Jeanette Rhodes exits. Ms. Rhodes did engineering for the 6 station (5 FM/1AM) and also served as station voice for Classic Hits/WJJK (104.5fm).
Nexstar's FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis) reporter Samantha Myers exits. Ms. Myers joined "FOX 59" in May 2016.
iHeartMedia welcomes Mike Killabrew back to their Indianapolis cluster as SVP/Programming. Mr. Killabrew also now programs both Classic Rock/WFBQ (94.7fm, Indianapolis) and Alternative/WOLT (103.3fm, Indianapolis).
Southeast
On Monday December 30, broadcaster Charlie Jenkins died from complications associated with Parkinson's disease. He was 80 years old. In a 54 year career, he worked for and later co-owned WXVW (1450am, Jeffersonville). He also worked across the Ohio River in Louisville, Kentucky at WKJK (1080am) and WHAS (840am). Known as "The Voice of Southern Indiana Sports", Mr. Jenkins earned many accolades, including the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame (1999), Kentuckiana Media Association’s Bob Scherer Lifetime of Service Award (2005), Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame (2009), among others Here is the complete obituary.
Southwest
At the beginning of 2020, the syndicated Bob and Tom Show moved from Townsquare Media's Rock/WGBF-FM (103.1fm, Henderson, Kentucky) to The Original Company's Classic Hits/WJPS-FM (107.1fm, Boonville). The show aired on WGBF-FM for 24 years.

WICR Radio at the University of Indianapolis is seeking a Director of Engineering. This is a rare chance to join the experienced management team at one of the most successful radio education programs in the country, which is dedicated to developing the next generation of broadcast professionals.
The perfect candidate will have the majority of the required competencies, but also will have the desire to grow, learn, and contribute. Up-to-date technology, a reliable physical plant, responsibility for a single station, and support for professional development all combine to make this an ideal opportunity for a first-time lead engineer.
Two years of broadcast engineering or related experience is required. This includes experience with and knowledge of FCC rules and regulations as they pertain to licensing and operating a full-power FM/HD radio station; radio frequency transmission and reception systems; and computer networks, operating systems, and digital audio platforms.
Experience teaching, training, and managing staff members on the proper operation of radio studio and transmission equipment is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in communication, telecommunications, media or a related field is preferred, but not required. Society of Broadcast Engineers certifications are a plus.
