Fellowship FOCUS
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP)
NSF GRFP supports future graduate students who intend to pursue a research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in fields within NSF’s mission. The GRFP provides up to three years of financial support and additional benefits. The deadline is Oct. 21-Nov. 1, depending on the discipline. Access ONIF's info session and reach out with questions.

All or Multiple Disciplines
Govern For America Fellowship- Deadline: October 2! Govern For America places diverse, dynamic recent graduates in key roles in government across the nation for two years of accelerated growth. To be considered for the 2021 Fellowship Cohort, applicants must be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, DACA Recipient, or have US Sponsorship for 2 years; and, be on track to earn an undergraduate or master’s degree by June 2021. If graduated, they should have earned an undergraduate degree in 2018 or later. Fellows are government employees and the range of salaries is broad, depending on the position and the state. A starting salary can be anywhere from $45,000 to $60,000 depending on your role and the government you are matched with.
Brooke Owens Fellowship- Deadline: October 4! Created to honor the legacy of a beloved space industry pioneer and accomplished pilot, Dawn Brooke Owens (1980 – 2016), the Brooke Owens Fellowship is designed to serve both as an inspiration and as a career boost to capable young women who, like Brooke, aspire to explore our sky and stars, to shake up the aerospace industry, and to help their fellow men and women here on planet Earth. We do this by matching thirty-six extraordinary women per year with purpose-driven, paid internships at leading aviation and space companies and organizations and with senior and executive level mentors. Eligibility: you are an undergraduate student as of today. You identify as a woman or as a member of another gender-minority group. You are available for full-time employment in the summer of 2021. You are interested in pursuing a career in aerospace (any aspect of the field)
Princeton in Africa (PiAf)- Deadline: October 28. Princeton in Africa helps future leaders develop lifelong connections to the people and nations of Africa. We offer highly selective yearlong fellowships to recent college graduates with organizations across the African continent; we enable our Fellows, through their work, to make significant contributions to Africa’s well-being; and we encourage our Fellows to cultivate meaningful relationships with communities in Africa and with one another. There is a $75 application fee and varying placement fee. However, they offer application waivers or reductions for those with demonstrated need.
Princeton in Asia (PiA) Fellowships- Deadline: November 9. PiA sponsors over 150 postgraduate fellowships and internships in 20 countries and is the oldest and largest organization of its kind, unique in its scope, size, century-long expertise and emphasis on service. There is a $60 application fee & $550 placement fee and medical insurance & airfare are not included. However, they offer application waivers or reductions for those with demonstrated need.
College of Business & Economics
D-Prize- Deadline: October 18/November 8. D-Prize supports new entrepreneurs who can distribute proven poverty interventions. The world has already invented products and services to end poverty. Yet millions of people still don’t have access. Can you design a business or NGO that solves one of our Distribution Challenges. If selected we will award you up to $20,000 USD to launch a pilot version of your new organization in any region where extreme poverty exists.
College of Communication and Fine Arts
Cody Renard Richard Scholarship Program- Deadline: October 25. This scholarship program aims to help students reach their full artistic, academic and leadership potential, by providing a direct financial contribution to help ease the burden of the many costs of attending higher educational learning institutions, such as tuition, housing, textbooks and class fees. In the inaugural year, selected recipients will receive a $1,500 scholarship for the Spring 2021 semester.
School of Education
NASP-ERT Minority Scholarship Program (NASP-ERT MSP)- Deadline: October 30. The Program seeks to lower financial barriers to training and to highlight the accomplishments of promising future professionals. It advances NASP's commitment to diversity in the field of school psychology by supporting culturally diverse graduate students who will eventually provide school-based services to diverse student populations. Upon receipt of the award, the Program works to mentor and encourage each scholar as they progress from graduate student to practicing school psychologist. The Program annually awards scholarships of $5,000 each to selected scholars.
School of Film & Television
Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) Inclusion Fellowship- Deadline: October 14! This newly established program will focus on building a more inclusive and equitable industry for all members of the Latinx community. In its first year, the program will offer a production grant to 5 visionary directors who identify as Afro Latino to create a short film. Each filmmaker will receive $20,000 cash and individualized mentorship, meetings with industry leaders and networking opportunities. The completed films will be premiered as a part of a special program during the 2021 version of LALIFF.
Eligibility:
- For the purpose of this program, Afro Latino will be defined as any filmmaker from the United States that self-identifies as both Black and Latino.
- Applicants must be permanent residents or citizens of the United States.
- Professional Merit: Open to emerging filmmakers who have completed at least one short film, have not yet completed a feature film and are ready for the next step in their career.
- Artistic Merit: Have a clear vision of what they want to execute and accomplish, with a powerful voice

DUE September 25IISS Student Ambassador Programme
The International Institute for Strategic Studies seeks to appoint Student Ambassadors for the 2020−21 academic year (October−June). The programme will provide the selected students with an opportunity to attend roundtables, webinars and workshops and to gain exposure to a wide network of IISS experts. Student Ambassadors also help with IISS’ student outreach through social media and otherwise. To be considered, you must be studying at a university in the UK or the US in the 2020−21 academic year.
