A recent article by Todd Michney (History and Sociology) on “How the City Survey’s Redlining Maps Were Made: A Closer Look at HOLC’s Mortgagee Rehabilitation Division,” which uses previously unknown archival materials to explain how and why the now-notorious redlining maps were made, recently received the award for best article published in the Journal of Planning History between 2021 and 2023. The award is given by the Society for American City and Regional Planning History.

A book chapter by Britta Kallin (Modern Languages) about Austrian Nobel Laureate Elfriede Jelinek's texts and ideas on gender and violence was recently published. Kallin's chapter is the outcome of her invited participation in a research project organized by the Elfriede Jelinek Research Network.
