Upcoming Holiday Hours
Monday, Sept. 4 - All Boulder Public Library locations will be closed for the Labor Day holiday.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2017 Summer Reading Program!
This year's Summer Reading Program has concluded, and we hope everyone enjoyed "Building a Better World" with us this summer!  The program ran from May 31 - July 31, and below are some facts about this year's participation:
Total kids registered: 3,996
Reached mid-point: 2,235 (That's 2,235 free Cold Stone ice creams!)
Completed entire program: 1,888
Completion rate: 47.25%

We estimate that 348 pre-readers (ages birth-5) completed 15 activities to finish the program. That means:
• A total of 1,308 elementary school-aged kids (ages 6-11) completed the program, which means they read a total of 1,046,400 minutes!
• A total of 150 teens (ages 12-18) read 6 books each to complete the program, for a total of 900 books.

The Summer Reading will be back in the summer of 2018, and we look forward to all the fun with you next summer!

Recommended Read

Patty Jane's House of Curl by Lorna Landvik
"Fascinating, well-written, and full of humor, adventures (and misadventures), hope, and strong family bonds. Each character is expressive and unique, showing admirable fortitude in the face of both tragic and wondrous life events. Set in post-World War II Midwest America, it paints a lovely picture of the time and our culture through the experiences and exploits of Patty Jane and her loved-ones."
