Dear LCA Families,
I trust this letter finds you well as we approach the winter season, a time when the weather can sometimes present challenges to our daily routines. At Life Christian Academy, the safety and well-being of our students are of utmost importance to us, and we would like to take this opportunity to communicate our inclement weather procedures.
On days when inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances require adjustments to our normal schedule, you will receive communication from LCA via text and email. Updates will be posted to the website and on the school’s social media platforms. You may also monitor the following stations for announcements regarding school closures or delayed starts: KIRO-TV, KOMO-TV, KING-TV, and KCPQ-TV.
In the event of a delayed start due to inclement weather, the schedule will be as follows:
10:00 a.m. start time for Grades 6-12.
10:15 a.m. start time for Grades K-5.
We understand that each family's situation is unique, and student attendance during inclement weather is at the parents' discretion. If parents feel that the route between home and school is unsafe, they may choose to keep their child at home.
Please be aware of the following adjustments for delayed starts:
Before-School Care will not be available.
AM Early Childhood classes are canceled.
All before-school activities are canceled.
Buses will run on a delayed schedule. Gig Harbor | 9:15 a.m. - 9:20 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. - 9:35 a.m.
Furthermore, on no-school snow days that include eLearning, Upper School students are expected to follow the schedule provided for eLearning activities.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in ensuring the safety of our students during adverse weather conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. May you and your family have a safe winter season.
God Bless, and Go Eagles!
Dr. Matt Johnson, Head of School
