Little Breaks, Big Magic: The Art of the Study Pause
|
Because you deserve to feel human, even during finals. In the rush of cramming, we forget the power of a small, beautiful pause. Let’s romanticize the in-between moments that keep you grounded and glowing, even with a highlighter in hand. 🌞
Five UChicago-Inspired Ways to Romanticize Your Study Pause:
-
Grab a coffee, tea, or matcha from Hallowed Grounds and sit by the window. Let yourself do nothing for five minutes like you're in a French film. Watch campus life move around you. It's okay not to rush.
-
Turn your Reg cubicle or study space into a tiny temple. Spritz a calming scent like lavender, use a desktop background of Promontory Point, or even toss a cozy scarf across your chair— make your study space a sanctuary. 🕯️
-
Pause by Botany Pond 🕊️ (yes, even for 3 minutes). Watch the birds do their thing. Stretch like you're waking up in a warm meadow🌸🌼(bonus: play a soft instrumental playlist or nature sounds).
- Write a one-line ode to yourself: “Today, I showed up by…” or “Even in stress, I still…”—jot it on the back of an index card or a page in your notes. 🖋️📖
Breaks aren’t a reward for grinding—they’re part of the rhythm of learning. Let them be lovely.
