Chinese New Year Celebration |
Friday, February 20, 2026 | 2pm-4pm
Join us for an afternoon of culture, celebration, and good fortune as we welcome the Lunar New Year. Enjoy festive décor, Volcano Cake, coffee, and jasmine tea, along with a special lion dance performance by the students of the Edmonton Kun Seng Keng dance troupe, featuring traditional drumming and a ceremonial scroll opening.
Learn about the tradition of red envelopes and take part by placing money into envelopes and feeding the lions during the performance — a meaningful gesture of appreciation that symbolizes prosperity, protection, and luck for the year ahead. Participation is optional.
Celebrate the Year of the Horse, a symbol of strength, energy, and forward momentum, and welcome good fortune together.

We’re trying something new! Join us in room 207 on Thursday, February 24, 10am–1pm for a hosted Board Games Day. It is free to attend and there will be someone to help organize games, explain rules, and welcome players. Come on your own or with a friend and enjoy a relaxed, social gaming experience.

Friday, March 6, 2026 | 9:15am-12:00pm
Only 4 spots left! Enjoy a morning of pampering from the M.E. LaZerte Cosmetology Students. Each registrant will get their hair and makeup done, and will receive a digital photograph to celebrate the day! Light refreshments will be served.
Please meet us at NESA at 8:45am. We’ll head out together by shared transportation around 9:00am to the school. The event runs from 9:15–11:45am, and we’ll return to NESA, arriving around 12:00pm.

The Wizards of Odds ‘n Ends is a talented group of crafters dedicated to supporting NESA through their beautifully handmade creations. 100% of the proceeds from their sale go directly to NESA, so come show your support and shop for unique, handcrafted items at their fundraising sale!

St. Patrick's Day Celebration |

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us at the Northgate Lions Recreation Centre! Cozy up with a warm beverage, or enjoy drinks from our cash bar, and treat yourself to delicious pistachio squares. Be delighted by lively performances from the talented dancers of the Knock School of Irish Dance, all while soaking in great company and festive cheer. Join us from 2–4pm for an afternoon of music, movement, and merriment you won’t want to miss!

The Grand Dueling Piano Experience |

One stage. Two pianos. An experience you’ll never forget! Enjoy a high-energy, all-request dueling piano show that will have you singing, laughing, and dancing in your seat. Featuring the Grand Dueling Piano Show, a world-class trio bringing your favourite songs to life—from classic rock to pop hits and everything in between.
Dinner includes Chicken Schnitzel, Scalloped Potatoes, Caesar & Greek salad, and Tiramisu, with coffee and tea included. Cash bar available.

Thank you to our Pins and Needles Club for their generous $4,000 donation to NESA, shared between the Supporting Our Seniors and Sustainability Funds. Through their love of quilting, this wonderful group continues to give back to the community.

Join fellow NESA members for a casual coffee hangout in the café every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1:30pm. The next meet-up is February 17. Come chat, visit, and enjoy time together!
|
|

Please bring clean indoor shoes for your fitness, dance, yoga, gymnasium, and fitness centre activities. This helps keep our floors clean, safe, and dry for everyone. We have a shoe and boot cleaner at the entrance to reduce outdoor debris brought into the building.

Grocery Gift Cards - Get Yours Today! |
Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our senior's recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives at NESA.
