Wave of Support is a campus-wide, collaborative program that supports your mental and emotional health. The Wave of Support brings together the programs and services of the many existing student support offices on campus with the goal of building a healthier campus by enhancing the holistic experience of our students in the realm of wellbeing.
Our overall wellness is comprised of multiple overlapping and interdependent components, or dimensions. To live a balanced life, we must be aware of and make choices to support every type of wellness.
In the July module, we’ll guide you through the 8 dimensions of wellness and show you where to find support on campus, no matter what kind of care you need!

The Newcomb Town Mom program, offered by the Newcomb Alumnae Association and Newcomb Institute, connects incoming first-year students with local Newcomb alums. Students are matched with a supportive adult role model who can offer guidance and encouragement throughout their time at Tulane.

To support your transition to campus, we've created a "TU Do" list of important tasks to complete throughout the summer. We highly encourage you to review the checklist at the start of each month for a reminder of upcoming tasks and deadlines.
|
Below are just a few of the checklist items to complete in July:
|
-
Mid-July: Required Wellness Courses Available - Check your Tulane email for instructions on completing five required online wellness courses about alcohol, sexual violence prevention, mental wellbeing, sexual health and sexual literacy. You have until August 18 to finish these online courses.
-
July 15: Immunization Compliance Deadline - This is the deadline to submit your completed Tulane immunization compliance form and/or vaccine records via the Patient Portal. Tulane must have evidence of a student’s compliance with the state guidelines for immunizations. Failure to meet these requirements will result in a registration hold being placed on your student account, which will bar you from dropping or adding classes in the Fall semester and/or enrolling for Spring semester classes.
- July 16: Newcomb-Tulane College Undergrad Book Bundle scholarship closes.
-
July 20: Eligible students will receive an email from the Tulane bookstore about the Newcomb-Tulane College Undergrad Book Bundle. Students should respond to this email immediately and select pickup or delivery so that their course materials and books will be ready on the first day of classes. Please remember this bundle includes digital materials and is not a-la-carte. For more information, please visit bookstore.tulane.edu.
-
Late July/early August: If you have ongoing mental health needs or concerns, connect with a community therapist or psychiatrist before arriving in New Orleans. Contact the CAPS Care Coordinator if you need assistance connecting with a local provider.
- Review your Move-In guide once published prior to moving onto campus.
- Need a bike permit? You must register your bicycle through the Tulane University Police Department. Bike permits may be picked up from the TUPD office located in the Diboll Complex.
