Valentine Craft
Our all-ages craft for the month of February is a Valentine-making kit! We're offering two sizes of craft kit, a regular size, which has enough supplies to make 3-5 valentines, and a super-size kit, with supplies to make ten.
Gift your handmade Valentines to family and friends or return them to the library and Sandra, our outreach coordinator, will distribute them to local senior citizens!
Pick up the kits and return your finished Valentines in Library Drive-Thru!
We are excited to announce that 13 mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots are now available for checkout, thanks to a grant from the Washington State Library.
A Wi-Fi Hotspot is a portable device you can use to connect your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other device to the internet from wherever you are. With this new service, you can "check out the internet," just like you would check out a book!
Request a Hotspot by calling the library at 360.442.5300 or searching "hotspot" in the online catalog. Wi-Fi hotspots check out for six weeks and cannot be renewed.

NW Voices presents:
Robert Michael Pyle & Judy Vandermaten

Thursday, February 25 | 7 PM
Our reading series returns with writer, biologist, and longtime friend of the library Robert Michael Pyle and photographer Judy Vandermaten. This online presentation will feature poems and photographs from their recent collaboration The Tidewater Reach: Field Guide to the Lower Columbia River in Poems and Pictures. Their poems and photos combine to make a vivid portrait of the stretch of the Columbia River where saltwater mixes with fresh.
The link to the Zoom presentation will be posted on our website when it becomes available.

Farewell to Daniel

With excitement for his future and a heavy heart, we announce that Daniel Tate has accepted a librarian position in Colorado. Daniel has been here at the LPL for more than four years, and in that time has made a tremendous difference both to the community and to those of us lucky enough to work alongside him. Whether he was designing beautiful posters and bookmarks or helping patrons with his unflagging patience and characteristic kindness, Daniel brightened the mood of all around him. He will be greatly missed.

As COVID-19 has prevented the Friends of the Longview Public Library from hosting their usual book sales, they've had to come up with creative ways to fundraise. Check out their Facebook page to learn more about their fundraising efforts.
The Friends of the Longview Public Library make possible a variety of programs, including book clubs, LPL Seed Library, Summer Reading, and Craft Kits. We couldn't do it without them, and they can't do it without your support.
