Brandon House Cultural & Performing Arts Center was privileged to be a recipient of a project from Ozark Mission Project (OMP). Volunteers from OMP came to our site at 3802 West 12th Street and repaired the handicapped ramp. In addition to giving us a new ramp, they engaged with the students with inspirational songs.
Ozark Mission Project (OMP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit mission that serves across the state of Arkansas. OMP as they are called has been transforming lives and legacies through building projects for over 36 years. Their largest program, summer missions, aims to organize youth and community groups to engage in Arkansas communities by serving individuals and families, and our neighbors, who are in need of minor construction and yard work.
Brandon House's location at 3802 was formerly known as Gerald's House due to the renovations by Gerald Counds who sold the building to Theressa Hoover United Methodist Church. Brandon House is a proud partner with Hoover UMC by serving families and youth in the Midtown community with afterschool and summer programs. Thanks, OMP for the makeover of our ramp.
We are praying for more support as we look to finish painting the building. We also want to include an outdoor seating area under a gazebo designed to be environmentally friendly for our students to gather for storytelling, drama, theater, and relaxation. In addition, we want to create a recreation space for our youth to have recreation and playground equipment.

Join us as we promote positivity and showcase the incredible talents of our community's youth while providing them with the must-have back-to-school resources they need, including school supplies and uniforms.
Rock the Block is a collaborative effort between local school districts and community organizations, and it's set to be the highlight of the summer. With games, music, food vendors, and entertainment for all ages, there's something for everyone. Families can access valuable resources to help their children succeed in school, making this event a must-attend for anyone looking to support their community and its academic success.

New Program Alert: DreamStarters DHS Brandon House is excited to welcome the DreamStarters program to our West Little Rock (WLR) site on Colonel Glenn Rd! This program is different from the City of Little Rock sponsored program at the 3802 W. 12th Street location because it accepts DHS vouchers and fee-based participants at a weekly rate of $112. We are licensed by the Arkansas Department of Human Services - Division of Child Care & Early Childhood Education and hold a Level 2 Better Beginnings rating through Arkansas’s Quality Rating Improvement System. At Brandon House, we believe in transforming lives through creative and performing arts!
The DreamStarters program is a creative arts-based program that exposes elementary students to arts-infused learning experiences. This helps youth address their personal, academic, social, and emotional development needs while preparing them to build skills for life. Activities in the program include Music Ensemble Projects, Dance, Drama/Theater, Literary & Visual Arts, and Arts-Based Field Trips.
Our DreamStarters Summer program provides students with a variety of cultural and performing arts experiences. They will learn filmmaking with DeShunn Berry, acting with Mr. Keith Harper, salsa dancing with Leah Patterson, comedy with Dee SoFunny, Hip Hop Literacy with Ms. Coffy, African drumming with Mr. Z., Design Dapper classes for boys, and Ladies First etiquette classes for girls. They will also enjoy personalized card making with Paula Rogers, Young Designer’s Academy Sewing with Ms. Rachel, entrepreneurship, and more! We’ve even included Fun Field Trip Fridays, where students will visit the Arkansas Art Museum, The Repertory Theatre, and participate in a Lunch & Learn at Cici’s Pizza to learn how to make pizza.
Our summer hours are from July 5 to August 11, with classes held Monday to Thursday from 10 am until 4 pm and Fridays from 9 am until 2 pm. Feel The Vibe Recap
Feel The Vibe was an annual event that took place on May 29th to celebrate World No Tobacco Day. This community health festival aimed to educate Little Rock residents about the harmful effects of tobacco use, prevent smoking initiation, and celebrate those who quit smoking. The event featured live performances, local vendors, and resources to promote a healthy lifestyle. It was a huge success that left attendees feeling informed and empowered to make healthier choices.

#ARyouth Boss Up: Art & Business Expo Recap
The #ARYouth Boss Up Art and Business Expo was designed to showcase the entrepreneurial spirit and creative talent of young professionals in the Little Rock area. As they celebrated the next generation of artists and business leaders, they invited attendees to join them on June 30th from 12 PM - 4 PM at Brandon House West Little Rock, 12120 Colonel Glenn Rd., Plaza II, Suite 1000, Little Rock, AR 72210. This event was an opportunity for young artists and entrepreneurs to expand their network, reach a wider audience, and showcase their potential.
The #ARYouth Boss Up Art and Business Expo was dedicated to promoting and celebrating the creativity and business savvy of young professionals. Attendees were invited to connect with like-minded individuals, showcase their talents, and gain valuable insights into the world of art and business. It was an incredible opportunity to make a mark on the world!
Attendees marked their calendars for June 30th and joined the #ARYouth Boss Up Art and Business Expo. Keliah's Night Medicine placed third, Phillip Johnson with This You Record Label placed second and First place in the shark tank style competition was Ziggy Zaza's Catering Service. All the students showed impeccable dedication and creativity in creating the foundations of their businesses but these three students were the most impeccable in the competition. The judges for the completion included Director Andre Lewis, City Director, Ward 6 who donated two cash prizes, Drekkia Writes and Christian Washington. Thanks to the staff from the City of Little Rock Department of Community Programs for attending this event.
