Exploring Fulbright Graduate Degree Grants
Fulbright offers study award grants for U.S. citizens interested in pursuing their master's or Ph.D. abroad. Graduate degree grants are available in over 80 countries, and many programs are fully-funded and taught in English. Students and alumni are invited to learn more about these awards, including establishing an affiliation with a foreign university. Register.

Ebell Scholarship
The Ebell continues to seek out and subsidize academically outstanding undergraduate students who are residents of Los Angeles County and have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA. Renewable awards of up to $5,000 are based upon character, scholarship, and financial need. Since 2018, over six LMU students have won this scholarship. If you're eligible, apply by April 2! All or Multiple Disciplines
The Academy for Public Policy Analysis and Research Fellowship- Deadline: March 12! The year-long fellowship begins with an intensive ten-week summer program in Washington, DC* hosted by our think tank partner, the Urban Institute. The summer portion of our program gives students between their junior and senior year of college the skills, experience, and exposure crucial to obtaining highly competitive entry positions in the field. After students successfully complete the summer program, we follow up with continued mentoring, research conference presentation at Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management Annual’s Research Conference, job and graduate school counseling, and research paper publication during the final year of college. Fellows receive a stipend of up to $7,500 for completing the program. *Depending on Covid-19 restrictions.
NYU Furman Center Predoctoral Research Fellow- Deadline: ASAP! The Furman Center, jointly housed at NYU’s School of Law and its Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, is a leading academic research center devoted to the public policy aspects of land use, real estate development, and housing. The fellow will work directly with Furman Center faculty directors Ingrid Gould Ellen and Kathy O’Regan as well as others on the Center’s research team, including full-time research staff and affiliated faculty, current doctoral students, post-doc and legal fellows, and current Master’s students. The fellow will work on academic research projects including policy evaluations with local jurisdictions, conducting a variety of tasks that help prepare them for graduate school, such as analyzing data, developing statistical models, writing up results and editing research papers, and making presentations.
Freeman Awards for Study in Asia- Deadline: March 30 for Summer 2021, Fall 2021, Academic Year 2021-2022, Spring 2022, or 2022 Academic-Year Study. Freeman-ASIA accepts applications from U.S. citizens or permanent residents studying at the undergraduate level at a two-year or four-year college or university who demonstrate financial need to study abroad in East or Southeast Asia.
Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund- Deadline: April 1! The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund aids people active in movements for social and economic justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to students who are able to do academic work at the college or university level or are enrolled in a trade or technical program and who are active in the progressive movement. Recent grantees have been active in the struggle against racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of oppression; building the movement for economic justice; and creating peace through international anti-imperialist solidarity. Applicants must have participated in activities in the US, and there is a strong preference for applicants who plan on working in this country. The maximum grant available is $15,000 per year (from July 1 through June 30). Open to international students, U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and DACA/AB540 students.
Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts
NPR Code Switch Fellowship- Deadline: March 12! Code Switch, the nation's premier podcast and reporting team on race and identity, is seeking applicants for two brand-new opportunities: the Code Switch fellowship for recent college graduates. The goal of this fellowship will be to "embed" the fellow with the Code Switch team, either remotely or in-person at NPR West in Culver City or NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C. Applicants must be recent college graduates, but previous journalism experience is not required. That being said, fellows must be able to demonstrate exceptional potential and drive. For this six-month opportunity, the successful applicant will receive a salary of $25,000 and benefits, including paid vacation.
Sinclair Broadcast Diversity Scholarship- Deadline: March 28! Provides financial support to college students interested in broadcasting, journalism, and marketing. The Fund plans to award up to 10 scholarships of up to $5,000 each per year for the next ten years to students from underrepresented minority groups who need financial assistance to complete their education. Open to current college sophomores or juniors.
This American Life Fellowship- Deadline: April 1! A six-month production fellowship, starting in July, based in our office in New York City. The fellows observe and participate in all aspects of the radio show’s weekly production. They transcribe interviews, sit in on group edits where stories are shaped, learn to structure and mix radio stories, pitch stories, participate in the program’s weekly story meetings and yes, perform assorted menial tasks that are the true signs of any apprentice program. This is not an entry-level position. Production fellows are required to have experience with Pro Tools or similar digital editing software and they’re responsible for producing on-air promos and rerun episodes – and helping with show segments – from the week they arrive. If you have no radio or audio editing experience, this program isn’t for you. This is a paid position. Our fellows earn about $6,250 a month, before taxes. We offer benefits like health insurance and relocation reimbursement.

NPR'S How I Built This Fellowship- Deadline: March 31! If you’ve got the next world-changing idea, we want to help you bring it to the next level. NPR will select 10 inspiring entrepreneurs to participate in the How I Built This Fellowship program, including the opportunity to pitch Guy Raz and a panel of powerhouse judges. One winning Fellow will go home with a $50,000 grant to build their business.

Music Forward Scholarships- Deadline: March 31! Music Forward, Live Nation, and Living Legacy Foundation partner up to increase opportunity for reaching educational heights for a diverse range of students pursuing music industry careers. Scholarships of up to $10,000 are available for eligible students.

RAY Fellowships- Deadline: March 26! The RAY Fellowship Program aims to increase and facilitate conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy-related career pathways for emerging leaders of color. This is a two-year paid fellowship designed to equip recent college graduates with the tools, experiences, support, and community they need to become leaders in the conservation and clean energy sectors—one that, in our visions of the future, fully represents, includes, and is led by the diverse communities, perspectives, and experiences of the United States. This year we're expecting a range of positions, at this time around seven more positions in addition to the ones already posted, from environmental education, fieldwork, and policy research to scientific analysis and communications in the clean energy, fisheries, and marine fields.

The Summer Delegates Program is CGD’s initiative aimed at establishing the next wave of young leaders in economic equality and global development. Students will participate in a structured, paid, part-time internship program that will expose them to our work in various issue areas, provide experience in institutional operations and activities, and present opportunities for professional development and networking, with the goal of encouraging participants to consider a career in development. Through this 8-week program, CGD hopes to gain diverse perspectives and lived experiences while building a new network of young professionals to become part of the development community.
