| Can the Griz Food Drive started November 5th! This food drive is a friendly, off-field competition between Montana State University and the University of Montana to see which school can collect the most donations for their local food bank.
If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity, there are many options to choose from!

Please join the First-Gen committee on November 9th for a discussion about first-gen student experiences from Montana State First-Generation students to celebrate National First-Generation Celebration Day. There will be approximately 45 minutes of structured questions followed by 15 minutes of Q&A time for the audience. Discussion on resilience, struggles, and experiences of first-gen students on and off of the MSU campus will occur.

Cat $cholarships Opened November 1st! |
Don't forget to hop onto the Cat $cholarships website this week to fill out the scholarship application! There are tons of scholarships from across the university on this website with differing application deadlines, so do it sooner rather than later!
If you need help with the applications, feel free to swing by the TRIO Office and we would be more than happy to help!

Don't forget to do your FAFSA for the 2023-24 school year! |
The FAFSA is super important to ensure that you are able to receive financial aid for college, so don't forget to do it ASAP!
Things you need to complete the FAFSA:
1. Your Social Security Number
2. Your (and your parent(s)/guardian(s) if you are a dependent) federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned 3. Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable) 4. Record of untaxed income (if applicable) 5. Your FSA ID and password

2023 Orientation Leader Applications Due November 16th |
Ever wanted to be an orientation leader in the summer? Now is your chance! Orientation Leaders will be compensated $450 per summer Orientation session (June & July sessions) and $250 per fall Orientation session (August). Students will also be awarded two 400-level upper-division credits for completing the HLD 460 course. In addition to course credit and payment, students benefit from incentives such as free t-shirts, free meals, campus swag and more. Be sure to get your application in by November 16th at 5pm to be considered! If you have any questions, make sure to email Shannon Bangen at shannon.bangen@montana.edu.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) |
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs. LIHEAP provides federally funded assistance to reduce the costs associated with home energy bills, energy crises, weatherization, and minor energy-related home repairs.
LIHEAP can help you stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer through programs that reduce the risk of health and safety problems that arise from unsafe heating and cooling situations and practices.
