Dear Class of 2021 Parents,

There are currently ten positive cases and another six probable cases (symptomatic, awaiting test results) of COVID-19 in the senior class.

We were notified of a gathering that occurred over the Halloween weekend. It appears the majority of the cases have come from that gathering. We are now faced with the dilemma of trying to contact trace all of the students at the gathering and who were in close contact with any of the positive cases since Saturday, Oct. 31. We are thankful to the families who have helped the nurse's contact trace thus far and ask that you speak to your students to gather information regarding possible exposure.

After speaking to the Cook County Board of Health, their suggestion is to quarantine the entire senior class if we feel we have not fully traced the close contacts of the positive cases. We want to keep the school open and do not want to be forced into full remote learning due to a lack of cooperation with contact tracing. Please reach out to the nursing staff immediately if you feel your student was in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID, is symptomatic, or was at a social gathering with other Fenwick students in the past week. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Fr. Richard Peddicord, O.P.
President
