FRC Basics 101 Part 2 (Online)

The DEC FRCI team will be hosting an FRCI Basic Training for FRC staff members who need an overview of FRCI work. Please share the flyer or information with your staff whom you believe should attend.

Implementing FRC Programming Supporting School Readiness and Success (In-person)

Implementing School Readiness and Support is a 2 session series. You will develop a deeper understanding and implementing Early Literacy practices in the FRC. Learn about school success and supporting families with children in elementary school. Lastly, understanding the role of social emotional wellness in school readiness and success and implementing social-emotional wellness programming in the FRC. Please share the flyer or information with your staff whom you believe should attend.

The DEC Partner Hub is now available for you to access! This new website centralizes DEC grantee and funded-partner information and resources.

All DEC partners, including Early Childhood Educators & Administrators, Early Connections, and Family Support grantees, will be able to access the Partner Hub for Grant and program policies, requirements, and resources.

Please join us for the DEC All Grantee Fiscal Training for FY26-27 on September 10, 2026, from 1:30–2:30 PM. 

This training is required for all DEC grantee agencies. Each agency must designate at least one representative to attend. However, all fiscal staff and others involved in managing your DEC grant are encouraged to participate.   

We strongly encourage staff to attend live, as the training will provide an opportunity to ask questions directly of DEC staff. A recording will also be available afterward for staff who are unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict or who join your agency later. 

You will be welcome to ask question during the training, but if you want to ask questions in advance about fiscal matters and policies, please fill out this form. Our DEC team will try their best to answer all of your advance questions in the training.

Thanks to funding from the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development, Legal Link is pleased to offer our Legal First Aid® certification training to nonprofit organizations across San Francisco working to increase housing stability for low-income families.

Legal issues often create barriers to housing stability, but many people lack access to the legal support they need. Legal Link's Legal First Aid® Training Program equips frontline nonprofit staff with the knowledge and tools to identify legal issues early, support clients in navigating the legal system, and connect people to appropriate resources. Following completion of the training, participants become certified in Legal First Aid®, receive ongoing support from Legal Link staff, and gain access to The First Aid Kit.

Recommended participants: Program staff, case managers, housing advocates, and other frontline staff who work directly with clients. Please share this opportunity with your teams and encourage staff who work directly with clients to register.

Self-Care Tools for High-Impact Care Teams

Participants will learn practical, body-based self-care skills they can use in real time—during a shift, between hard interactions, and at home—to reduce stress load and recover faster. This session teaches quick nervous-system resets (breath, posture, orienting, movement, and micro-recovery routines) that can also be adapted for clients and families. We’ll also name the organizational risk of untreated burnout—shutdown, compassion fatigue, and turnover—and identify a few team-level habits that protect sustainability. The Ripple Effect of Social Media on Youth Well-Being

Do you believe that social media is impacting the mental health of our youth? This training provides the latest research from the Surgeon General of the US about how social media decreases social connections, social capital, and community. This erosion has contributed to the mental health crisis of our young people. 

This session will provide an overview of the challenges as well as tangible interventions to address how to support youth and their families. Participants will walk away with tools to engage and support young people and their families in using social media in healthy ways as well as learn ways to create social capital and community.
