Welcome     Grow     Serve    Celebrate

Tuesday I received an email with the subject line, "Urgent Food Pantry Needs." It was from our community partners at MadCAAP and it began, "Yesterday was a difficult day at MadCAAP. SNAP benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) will not be distributed November 1st and we see a wave of need headed our way." Even before the news of SNAP benefits, MadCAAP was already seeing a rise in families seeking food assistance due to the rising cost of food and basic necessities. They will be increasing their food distribution from 120 families a week to 160 families every week, and they are not alone in seeing this rising need.

But here is some good news I can share. Thanks to your giving, we have funds budgeted for mission support and community needs, so I reached out to MadCAAP to ask what would be most helpful. They responded by simply saying, "food," and they gave me some of the pallet prices that are based on a two-week supply to feed 320 families. Parkway Hills will be sending them the funds to purchase a pallet of Tuna and Tuna Helper costing $960. We can meet this need and serve in this way because of your faithful giving. If you have not yet given in 2025 or it has been a while since your last gift or you want to give to help those facing food insecurity, I hope you will pray about how you can give now so we can continue to meet needs in our community and fund all the mission and ministry at Parkway Hills.

Other ways you can help now to meet the growing needs of families:
Bring in peanut butter any time you come to church for us to take to MadCAAP, and support our November Communion offering either financially or by bringing in cans of chocolate or vanilla icing to aid MadCAAP in creating Thanksgiving boxes.

We all want to find ways to reach out when we see others suffering.  Trust that your giving at Parkway Hills is being used to meet needs and alleviate suffering in our community.  Your gifts matter.  Let us be generous givers.

Happy Trails

If you see Jim Robertson out working on the church trails, give him a thumbs up for a job well done. Jim's volunteer labor is making our church campus even more beautiful.
Sunday Mornings join our PHUMC kids for Big Faith. Big Faith takes children through Bible stories using hands-on activities, child-friendly themes, and includes at-home connections. Children 4th grade and under meet in the Garden room at 9:30 am each Sunday before dividing into age-appropriate rooms for a deeper dive into the lesson.
Be sure to pick up your faith-home connection sheet in the foyer of the Worship Center, by the kid's activity bags. This enables the kids to share what they're learning in Sunday School with the whole family.
We always need volunteers to aid with our kids ministry. For more information about any of our kids ministry events contact Jennifer.

Bridge Mission Night

Some of our Bridge tweens participated in a mission night as part of our Wednesday night activities. They headed to the store and purchased some items needed to refill the shelves of Blessing Box Madison MS. This box allows people facing food insecurity to take what they need. A special thanks to our adult volunteers who made this mission night possible and to all our Parkway Hills members whose gifts allow us to find and meet needs in our community. Your giving matters.
