Sustainability Series: Our Ocean
Join ARC, the Alliance for Sustainability, and EarthSave for the first in a series of potluck and discussion events on Sunday, January 24 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fuller Park Recreation Center, 4800 Grand Ave. S in Minneapolis. We hope this series will launch many conversations about the meaning of "sustainability" and how we can widen the typical definition that often excludes animal agriculture. We will show a short 15-minute film which Captain Paul Watson of Sea Shepherd called an excellent overview of the destruction happening in our Ocean today. For the potluck, please bring a plant-based main dish, side dish, or dessert to share (plant-based = no meat, dairy, eggs, gelatin, honey, or refined sugar). We'd like this to be a zero-waste event so please bring a serving utensil, your plate and silverware, a copy of your recipe, and of course, your appetite.

A Flurry of Activity with 100% Chance of Helping Animals
A heartfelt thank you to all who donated to our animal advocacy programs in 2015. We were thrilled by the number of donors who recognized that our work is showing real results. Without your generous support, ARC could not exist. You make our victories for animals possible.
We had a strong finish to the year with outreach at a major corporate employee health fair, our annual Turkey-Free Potluck which brought in over 160 people (a new attendance record) with many new people interested in learning more about plant-based eating, and several Vegan University workshops. We held demonstrations at the Shrine Circus and Ribnick Furs on Fur-Free Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, and thanks to a great story in the Huffington Post, our Cuddle Coats program set a new record with over 323 fur coats donated this year to be given back to the animals.
For 2016, we already have five days of Pay Per View outreach scheduled at two colleges and one large health expo, along with a film screening, in January and February. And we've scheduled the first event in our new Sustainability Series, which the Alliance for Sustainability and EarthSave are co-sponsoring with us. Each event will be a plant-based potluck with a featured speaker or film on sustainability as it relates to animal agriculture.
If you meant to make a donation before the end of the year, but time got away from you, you can make a year-end donation to ARC now. We so appreciate not only your support, but also your vote of confidence in our work to save the lives of animals. With people like you on our side, we look forward to making even more of a difference for animals in 2016.

Big Weekend Cuddle Coats Session + Vegan Pizza
Saturday, January 16, 2:00-5:00 p.m., ARC office/Ethique Nouveau, 317 W 48th St., Minneapolis
Since Cuddle Coats was featured in the Huffington Post, we've received lots of new fur donations and would like to ship them to our wildlife rehab partners as soon as possible. We'll be prepping the coats by removing all buttons, zippers, linings, etc. This is a great low-key way to volunteer for a bit and meet other people in the group while doing something concrete to save animal lives. And we'll have vegan pizza at the end of the prep session! RSVP on Facebook or AR Meetup.
