With the end of the fall semester and the holiday season now in full swing I have been served a number of poignant reminders that not everything or everybody is “happy and gay” this time of year. It is, of course, very easy to get caught up in the excitement and joy of the season—the promise of time spent with loved ones, the happiness of gift giving, the celebrations and time away from work and/or school. But it is also the case that the end of the academic semester and the holiday season can be a time of great anxiety and distress for many. Read more of Dean Hershock's blog: "Timely Reminder."

Did you participate in undergraduate research when you were a CASL student? If you did, then you know what an incredible experience this can be and how it prepares you for your career after graduation. This year, a portion of gifts to the CASL Annual Fund are supporting undergraduate research in CASL so students can afford to take time to participate in research and present/publish their findings. Click on the video below to watch a student present her findings on Predicting Crime: Police Killings.
Many thanks to those of you who help make undergraduate research possible by giving to the CASL Annual Fund!
