Have you seen the
picture on Facebook that is either a duck or a rabbit depending on which way you look at it? Being a military spouse professional is similar in some ways to this image. Based on your perspective, it is either a limitation or an asset. This month we want to emphasize the benefits of being a military spouse professional, and as such, our theme is
knowing your value.
Our featured spouse, Heidi France, has maintained a very successful career, and she has supported her husband faithfully for almost two decades as a military spouse. Heidi has always regarded herself as a professional and encourages us to recognize our value and our strengths. She discusses the importance of being selective in accepting job offers and working with companies who understand and appreciate the military lifestyle. Heidi has been proactive and forward thinking in her own career, and she inspires us to chase our own ambitions.
We, here at the Other Side of Service, are following Heidi's lead and taking a BIG step towards our dream this month. We are launching our crowd funding campaign on
Tuesday, March 8th. This important fundraising campaign will help us take our organization to the next level. Our goal is to raise $20,000 in order to do the following things:
- Conduct and produce video interviews with military spouse professionals
- Build an interactive website and membership portal
- Develop a community of supporters
We want to build the foundation for an strong and vibrant organization, which is positioned to not only tell the story of military spouse professionals, but to work toward significant change on their behalf.
