From the Ranch House

RVRMA Fourth of July Celebration
Saturday, July 2 |4 p.m.- 7 p.m.
The Annual Fourth of July Celebration is this weekend! This fun-filled event will include a bounce house, crafts, face painter, live music, and food catered by Slow Grooving. Registration for this event is now closed. Due to catering numbers, walk-ins will not be accepted the day of the event.
Please plan accordingly for the following operational adjustments the day of the event:
  • Ranch House will be CLOSED 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 to set up for the Fourth of July Celebration. Doors will open again at 4 p.m. only to those registered for the event.
  • No lifeguards, slide or snack bar available the morning of the event. The slide and snack bar will be open during the party and will close at 8 p.m.
Water Reduction
RVRMA is starting a water reduction initiative on portions of Crystal Bridge Drive. Areas along Crystal Bridge that are currently native grass and mostly empty lots bordering native lands will be tested with a reduced watering schedule. Additionally, we will allow some grass areas on Crystal Bridge to grow higher than normal. This will allow the grass to hold more water and reduce evaporative loss.
You may see a change in the appearance of grass in these test areas. We thank you for your patience as we try different tactics to help reduce the amount of water we utilize in our common areas.
Long Range Planning Survey
RVRMA recently sent out a survey on Long Range Planning in RVR and we would like to thank everyone who has participated so far.
RVR is making a significant investment in professional planning services and we need good, thorough input to ensure the top priorities and key needs of the RVR community are met. So please, take the time to complete this survey and let your voice be heard!

Reminders & Highlights

Board Meeting Minutes
Did you know you can view past Board Meeting Minutes on the RVR website? The RVR Executive Board approves the previous month's minutes at their monthly meeting, they are then posted to the website.

Locker Room Cleanliness
Please help us keep the Ranch House locker rooms clean and tidy! Be sure to dispose of your used towels in the laundry baskets provided. Now that we are in our busy summer season we have noticed an increase of towels left on the floor and benches. Remember, children should not be left unattended in locker rooms.
Green Tip
Please enjoy the following eco-friendly tidbit brought to you by Friends of the Environment:
According to the Department of Energy, in the average home the hot water heater is responsible for about 17% of the total energy use. Many people don't realize that it's possible to turn down their hot water heater.  Most of us rarely need tap water at its highest level and turning it down will conserve energy and might even lower your monthly bill. Try lowering your heater to around 120 degrees or to "warm" if it doesn't display numbers. Your hot shower won't be affected, and you will save energy too.
You don't have to leave the green at home when you travel!

RVR Master Association Executive Board Election
The terms of office for current RVR Board President, Gary Lesser and current Board Vice President, John Lund, will expire in July.
Homeowners John Lund and Sherry Stripling each submitted Statements of Interest for the two available RVR Executive Board positions inside of the June 17 deadline. The RVR Policy for Board of Directors Election states, “In the event that the number of declared candidates to fill vacant RVR Board of Director positions is equal to the number of positions to be filled, the election shall be cancelled and those candidates shall be installed as RVR Board Members-At-Large.” Therefore, John Lund and Sherry Stripling are determined to be elected by acclamation and will be installed at the July 2022 RVR Board meeting.
  • Click here to read John's Statement of Interest

Short Term Rentals
During June's Board meeting, it was decided that an Ad Hoc Subcommittee on short term rentals shall be formed. This committee will dive into the important topic of short term rentals in RVR and the policies surrounding these types of rentals in our neighborhood.
Budget Planning
In preparation for budget season, RVR management is taking a proactive approach this year. As discussed at June's Board meeting, a draft timeline has been created.
A preliminary budget draft will be shared with the community early in the process. We endeavor to be transparent throughout the process and look forward to the community's input.
Young Artists
We are looking for young artists, to display their work at the Ranch House during the month's of July and August. So, if you know a talented young artist please contact Ali at ali.royer@rvrma.org for an opportunity to be a featured artist during the month of July.
Dead Tree Initiative
RVRMA management has launched a dead tree removal initiative in RVR common areas. We have started the removal of all dead or dying trees from common areas and will continue to do so over the course of the summer. We endeavour to curb the risk of fire danger and enhance aesthetics with the elimination of these trees. We hope that the community will follow suit by clearing failing and dead landscape on their properties as well.
As a reminder, any tree removals on your property will require Administrative Approval. You can get started by clicking here to view the Home Improvement Application.
Courage Classic Fundraiser
We invite you to help support RVR member, Michael Waski, as he bikes (along with his family and friends) in the 2022 Courage Classic Bicycle Tour supporting Children’s Hospital Colorado!
