STL DataFest 2024 was so packed with exciting speakers and big ideas that it was impossible to experience all of them at once. Thankfully, cameras were rolling for Yoni Malchi's keynote speech and every panel discussion throughout the two-day conference.

Washington University faculty engage in research so innovative that it often demands specialized tools that don’t yet exist.

As part of its mission to foster groundbreaking, data-driven research, TRIADS has formed its own software engineering team to help connect faculty with custom solutions to meet their research needs.

TRIADS invites students to apply for their graduate student fellowship program. These fellows obtain experience teaching, as well as networking with an interdisciplinary set of scholars who use innovative methods to research pressing societal problems.

NIH: Pilot Projects Enhancing Utility and Usage of Common Fund Data Sets

Many valuable and widely available data sets have been generated by multiple Common Fund programs. The purpose of this NOFO is to announce the availability of funding to demonstrate and enhance the utility of selected Common Fund data sets, including generating hypotheses and catalyzing discoveries. 

Russell Sage Foundation: Behavioral Science and Decision Making in Context
Letter of Interest Due: July 24, 2024

This program encourages perspectives from multiple disciplines, including economics, psychology, political science, sociology, law, public policy, and other social sciences, to further our understanding of economic, social, and political decision-making processes, attitudes, behaviors, and institutional practices in public and private contexts such as policing/criminal legal systems, employment, housing, politics, racial/ethnic relations, and immigration.

NSF: Human Networks and Data Science – Infrastructure (HNDS-I)
Deadline: August 1, 2024

Infrastructure proposals will address the development of data resources and relevant analytic techniques that support fundamental SBE research.

NSF: Science of Science: Discovery, Communication and Impact (SoS:DCI)

Supports research focused on advancing knowledge and theory on the social science of scientific discovery; theories, models and data improving our understanding of scientific communication; and how science advances evidence-based policymaking and public value.

EPA: The Community Change Grants NOFO
Application Deadline: November 21, 2024

EPA is accepting applications on a rolling basis for $2 billion in Inflation Reduction Act funding available to support community-driven projects that build capacity for communities to tackle environmental and climate justice challenges, strengthen their climate resilience, and advance clean energy.
