Sometimes a walk down memory lane can help direct our future course. As we enter 2020, let’s take a look at some whacky wellness trends of the past few decades.
  • The 60s brought us Jazzercise and Slim-Mint gum to cut food cravings.
  • The 70s brought us the Sleeping Beauty Diet and Sauna Suits to melt the fat away.
  • The 80s brought us the 10-day Cabbage Soup diet and Buns of Steel.
  • The 90s brought us the Thigh Master and Richard Simmons.
  • The 2000s brought CrossFit, Zumba and Planking, oh my.
  • The 2010s brought us the Shake Weight, mermaid swim classes, and animal yoga.
Welcome to 2020! A new decade. A new opportunity to start on a journey to well-being. A reminder though: you don’t need a wild wellness trend to help you on your way – you just need a plan for the future that’s fun and fits you. Don’t know where to start? TREK100 Challenge 

  • Wed, Jan 1 - Fri, Feb 28
  • Registration is open until Fri, Jan 31!
  • Compete with others or simply challenge yourself to complete 100 miles through various activities to earn a t-shirt. Just keep moving... whatever that means to you!
  • Includes access to an online dashboard for tracking your mileage daily.

Wellness Fair 

  • Wed, Feb 12, 2020 from 11am-2pm
  • Learn how to make wellness a part of your everyday life and support the health and well-being of the GVSU community. 
  • Free food samples, giveaways and prizes, flu shot clinic, STD testing, screenings, and wellness resources.

Spring Break Trip
to Moab, Utah 

  • Sat, Feb 29 - Thurs, Mar 7, 2020
  • Registration open until Feb 11, but the early-bird deadline is Dec 13!
  • Join Outdoor Adventures for hiking and backpacking or rock climbing in Moab, Utah - where you'll get the opportunity to explore two of the country's national parks - Arches and Canyonlands!
